Does your wife have any history of Diverticulitis ? I’m sure they checked her for it and her being a nurse but maybe they didn’t think of it ? It’s pretty painful. Anything can be overlooked in the ER, they are human after all. Mention it to the wife see what she thinks.Man what a crazy day!!! At 1 am while I was at work, wife had to call medics and be taken to ER. Severe abdominal pain! History and surgery in the past with small bowel obstruction. Same symptoms so she was freaking out. She’s been a nurse for 30 years, is an OR charge nurse, has had multiple surgeries, not unaccustomed to pain at all. So for her to be here. I know she’s hurting, bad.
Discharged at 5 am, only to return at 10 am and be re admitted. Same symptoms, severe pain and Can’t keep anything down. Just dry heaving now at times.
Been in ER all day, no small intestine issue, no gall bladder issue, they at this point don’t know what is causing the pain. It’s so frustrating. Giving her dilaudid to make life tolerable is helping. But clearly there’s an issue that needs to be recognized. I’m getting a bit frustrated. I know getting mad won’t help the situation. I just hate seeing her in pain.
They will be admitting for the night. I hope they can figure out what is causing this.
Let’s hope it’s nothing serious
