Trump just said to Iowa audience, "If you see someone about to throw tomatoes at me, beat the crap out of them. I'll pay the legal fees."

If I have to explain to you what a bigot is and how Trump is one. Then you are clearly delusional or a bigot as well ?

In other words, you want us to just bow down to you as you toss out labels without any justification? Good job Canada, you're making Californians look less kooky.

How to Understand Donald Trump’s Defeat in Iowa
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/02/upshot/how-to-understand-donald-trumps-defeat-in-iowa.html

For months, mainstream Republicans have hoped that Donald Trump’s support was a mirage — a combination of high name recognition, unsustainable news media coverage and support from irregular voters who might not show up in a primary.

Tonight, there’s reason to believe their hopes just might be well founded. Despite leading each of the last 10 Iowa polls, by an average of seven percentage points, Donald Trump was defeated by Ted Cruz, who currently leads, 28 percent to 24 percent, with 97 percent of precincts reporting in the Iowa caucuses. Marco Rubio is in a strong third place with 23 percent of the vote.

In the end, Mr. Trump came closer to taking third than to winning.

Trump Goes on Anti-Cruz Tirade With 'Dirty' Campaign Charge

Trump Goes on Anti-Cruz Tirade With 'Dirty' Campaign Charge

Real estate mogul Donald Trump went on Twitter this morning and accused Texas Sen. Ted Cruz of stealing the Iowa caucuses.

Trump criticized the Texas senator for spreading rumors that neurosurgeon Ben Carson was dropping out of the Iowa caucuses. A day after winning the Iowa caucuses, Cruz Tuesday issued an apology to Carson after his staff falsely told Iowa caucusgoers that Carson planned to quit the race, calling it a "mistake."

Trump is doing more than just going after Cruz on Twitter; he's doing it in his campaign speeches and at his news conferences. When ABC News asked Trump at a news conference Tuesday night whether Cruz is running a dirty campaign, he said, "I think he was certainly dirty. What he did to Ben Carson was terrible. I think what he did to voter violation forum; I thought that was terrible."

Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski says the GOP presidential candidate “speaks for himself” in his tweets.

Bernie Sanders: 'I'm prejudiced — I want Donald Trump to win the nomination'

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) admitted Wednesday that he is rooting for Donald Trump to win the Republican nomination.

During a CNN town-hall event, Sanders told moderator Anderson Cooper that he liked his odds against the real-estate mogul.

"Frankly, I'm prejudiced: I want Trump to win the Republican nomination," Sanders said. "I would love the opportunity to run against him. I think we'd win."

Sanders pointed out earlier in the night that some hypothetical head-to-head matchups showed Sanders in a better position than his rival Hillary Clinton to defeat Trump in the general election.

The Vermont senator railed against Trump during Wednesday's town hall. He criticized the tycoon for his plan to deport the approximately 11 million immigrants living in the US without permission, as well as his plan to ban many Muslim tourists and immigrants from entering the US.

"It is not only his bigoted remarks against Latinos, suggesting Mexicans coming into this country are rapists or drug dealers. Or his absurd remark that we should not let Muslims into this country," Sanders said.

Sanders also mocked Trump for his views on wages and climate change.

"Trump in a Republican debate saidwages are too high in America. Really? Here's the other one that kind of blows me away: Trump is a scientist, a well-known scientist. And he has concluded, after years of studying the issue, that climate change is a hoax brought to you by the Chinese. Now that shocked me, Anderson, because I thought he'd say the Mexicans or the Muslims."

For his part, Trump said last month that he'd also love to run against Sanders.

"This guy Bernie Sanders, give me a break," Trump said at a campaign rally.

"We haven't even focused on, I mean here's a guy who's a — they say socialist, but some people say he's a communist," Trump continued. "I shouldn't hit him too hard though, because if I hit him too hard then he'll go down, and it'll be a fight with Hillary, and maybe we want a fight for a while. So I'll say, 'Isn't he a wonderful guy?'"

Later on Wednesday, Trump asserted on Twitter that Sanders doesn't actually want to run against the real-estate magnate.

It is hilarious when a guy that pretends to be a conservative (or rather frustrating when you haven't abandoned the GOP yet), attacks an old man who declares himself a "democratic socialist", even though they both propose universal healthcare. Trump is a racist liberal in wolves clothing and the more he tries to divorce himself from the left, the dumber he looks. I respect liberals and Democrats who have the balls to admit what they are; but I don't respect a guy who supports very left-wing policies but runs as a "conservative", thinking all conservatives are stupid racists that some rich asshole can pander too.

Trumps policies are pretty damn conservative. I don't see much that would make him a liberal. He's not in favor of universal healthcare, that's a distortion of his position on Obamacare that's being disseminated by the GOP establishment and Ted Cruz for political gain.

When you refer to pandering to stupid racists I assume you mean his position on immigration, deporting illegals, etc. Whether he's pandering or not, he's absolutely right and I fully agree him. If that makes me a racist, so be it.

That is what makes him so dangerous (and electable), I catch myself nodding my head when he speaks sometimes. It is the inflammatory rhetoric, used to pander towards some of the worst parts of the base, that scares me (which I do admit that he has seemed to move away from these things). Just because you take a hard stance on illegal immigration, most certainly, doesn't make you a racist, IMO. Not wanting Syrian refugees in the country is a very valid opinion, I just fear that the inflammatory rhetoric will motivate the ilk in our society to commit hate crimes (because it is happening). He may be pandering (which would be a huge relief if he is just trying to pander) but I get a little uncomfortable when people get carried away or too overzealous with demonizing a whole group of vulnerable people. Your not someone who is going to go out committing hate crimes and I don't believe you would ever justify attacking innocent people out of hate. But there are dumb people who get gassed up by our politicians, all the time, and they go do horrible and unimaginable things. You don't fall into that group (unless I have totally mischaracterized you) and I don't think you are a racist because you are opposed to illegal immigration, nor because you are opposed to accepting refugees into the country (these people could honestly pose a security threat, especially young single men).

I think Trump's policy proposals do need to be put under a microscope, but we have seen time and time again that politicians claim to be conservative, but as soon as they get in office they jump in bed with the neocons. So finding an honest candidate (or at least somewhat honest) in the GOP probably is the party's best chance of picking a nominee who will actually represent their values and at least try to make good on their promises. I would make the argument that Donald Trump may turn into a great reformer of the GOP and to deny this would be naive. He is rallying voters and a base that has long since abandoned politics, people see hope in this man, and the GOP better find out why if they want to beat him.
