Back from the great state of Iowa. So, as the nation's leading producer of corn I was very surprised to NOT see corn on ANY menu in ANY restaurant. Kind of like how Massachusetts is the nation's leading producer of liberals but we don't kill and eat them
Another strange thing about food in Iowa would be rice. I felt like a Martian when I asked for a side of rice with my meals. Apparently rice isn't a normal thing for them to eat with a meal.
Just a large departure from the norm lol.
Not pictured would be assorted flavors of funnel cakes, chicken on a stick, BBQ, pulled pork, chicken tenders, French fries and beer. Copiuos amounts of beer. Iowa has a fun thing going on with their alcohol laws. You can buy and carry around as many beers as you want at any time. If you want to buy a 12 pack from concession you can go ahead and get that 12 pack. 2 beer rule in Massachusetts. Unreal shit lol.
Below is some really good onion rings, apricot chicken w mashed and broccoli, "famous beef dinner" which is mashed on sliced bread with beef and gravy all over the top, and some coconut cream pie. Courtosey of the Country Junction Restaurant in Dyersville Iowa.
