What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

If your 36 and in good health weight & bloodwork wise then I say eat a well rounded diet with medium carbs and fats and higher protein . And everyone should control their sugar intake . Its just plain empty calories that offers your body nothing good but taste bud satisfaction.

When they first found Paleo/Neanderthal Man remains , archeologist were amazed at the full set of teeth they had , in near perfect condition . The results of a diet devoid of white sugar . They also seemed to have had more muscle/thicker bones/less body fat than modern man....

Im in the same boat. I eat low carb higher fats and protein, but keto is to much for me. Big respect for OGH and rubi though.
I have a friend that was hardcore keto but he quit because he couldnt gain weight, he is prob at 6% bf so he didnt really do it for weight loss as much as health benefits. But he kept losing weight so he's more of a low carb guy now.

Maybe Im just a masochist , I just love torturing and shocking my body into submission , lol . Oh the PAIN feels so good !

Seriously I was just going to do Keto long enough to almost get into ketosis but I started enjoying it so I went "all the way".
Now Im ready to normalize a lil more and will start doing carb-up meals (but not days !) into my plan.

The same with me, but from what I’ve researched, and if I tried again, I would just up the fat( dietary fats ). I don’t eat cheese either, nor any dairy, but I stick to a low carb. I eat 1/2 cup of oats/ and 1/2 scoop of protein every morning I work(4days a week), and I follow that up with a meal of 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 banana, 1 avocado. That is my extent of carbs. The rest is fats/proteins
On the days I workout I have the oats/protein powder, then I have the fruit, then I go workout. After my workout I have a cup brown rice/chicken or fish. Then the rest of the day, protein and fat. Seem to be doing good right there. I like to keep my carbs pre/post workout, and the rest of the time no carbs.
On days I work, I consume them in the Am.
My biggest problem is right before bed peanutbutter. I eat it with a shovel.
When I run out, I go a week before I buy some more, and that’s my cut week lol. Once a month. Lol

Anyway I’m gonna pull up a chair, as I’m always up to learning new ways to improve my diet.
Anybody familiar with the UD 2.0 diet by Lyle McDonald???

Bro them carb up days, are the shit.
In the UD2.0. He has you deplete the glycogen in the whole body for like 4 days, then has you carb up for like 30 hrs, no fats, something like 1000 grams of carbs, then in the morning you do a strength workout, slow and methodical. Then that day you slowly transition back to low carb. And repeat for 4 to 6 weeks.
Best to be on low carb diet for a few months before attempting it.

Pretty solid diet right there

Pretty solid diet right there
Appreciate it.
It’s been a work in progress for 14 months. Seeing what foods digest well, what bloats me, what causes me any kind of digestion problem. I get rid of anything that does, and I build my diet from there.
I also read and learn from others, see what works for them, some of their tricks, and try it myself.
One of the brothers here put me on to Kimchi, and it’s awesome. I also like to get a small helping of Sauerkraut in ed or eod at least. All for digestion.
Which for me is the holy grail.
Eggs/tuna/summer sausage, cooked in coconut oil with a little olive oil, last meal.

Im with ya @The ole man - moderation beats extreme any day . But my Keto month went alright with no real lows (except for a flat look Ive had ) I will slowly start increasing carbs starting tomorrow...

Tonight was my daughters 26th birthday . It was Crab Louie salad for me , Fish & Chips for the wife and Fish taco"s for the birthday girl . Great time.

I eat a lot of kimchee, also drink probiotics every day. I too have an issue with bloating and have yet to figure out what causes it. Basically if i feel great, im not bloated, if im bloated i feel like utter shit. Lethargic ect... Went to the doc to see if she could figure it out but no help really. Im thinking i might have to quit drinking milk. I love milk [emoji20]

I had to quit milk too for that exact reason! I also had to quit broccoli, greens, and cabbage for that reason. Just bloats me and makes me feel like complete shit. I only drink water, with a little pink himilayan sea salt 1 every 5 bottles of water. I consume about 80 to 100 ounces a day of water, with about a tsp of pink himilayan sea salt.
I really can’t drink anything else without it bothering my stomach.
I was drinking 12 ounces a day of bone broth I made but it’s been a minute since I made any.
Gonna try some kobotchi(sp ) green tea that was recommended to me soon.

Agreed! Hey I just want us all the n the gym at 71 like Stallone! As a group we are way more powerful, to increase our knowledge to adapt to a lifestyle that just might get us there!
We in this together!

Lastly after talking with another member, he gave me an idea.
Run a cycle of dbol while on keto at a slight calorie deficit.
I’m not for sure what the outcome but if that OG here says he has cut on dbol, then I’m game to give it a try next cycle. I have to get in ketosis for a month before I try it.
I find I can get into ketosis faster if I use intermittent fasting daily for 16 hrs, but that’s pretty hard to do and not lose muscle.
Being on a cruise while you get into ketosis May offset that tho.
A lot of unknowns.

My wife cant eat dairy , any kind . Bloats the hell out of her . Might be your problem too...;)

Sadly i think your right. Im a 2 gallon a week guy too. This wont be easy.

Have you guys tried Fairlife milk or Kroger's Carbmaster milk? Probably no Kroger out west and in the middle of the ocean, but Fairlife should be available. They both are lactose free.
