XKawN homebrewing bible

I didnt say that did I? I specifically said sterility. I assumed that the brewing includes filtering....like i posted about the importance of filtering on this thread and it might even be on this same page...wtf

Not coming at you bud. The guy is foreign though. Just making it clearer for him.

Hey bro. that would be very complicated ... I'll see if I can get an autoclave ... = /

You can’t put the gear in an autoclave after it’s made. [emoji2369]

Filter your gear.

Buy 10 ml sterile syringe barrels

Buy PTFE or PDVF sterile syringe filters. They will come individually wrapped. The ones that come unwrapped 10-20 in a big bag are NOT sterile.

Buy pre-sterilized and capped vials.

Anything that is filtered will be sterile as long as it’s sealed and not opened.

I’ll sterilize my syringe, vial and rubber filters in this way. what do you say friend? its valid ?
Filter or it doesn't fucking matter. The raws themselves are *vastly* more likely to be the source of contaminants than your cookware.

But how many mls are you getting through a syringe filter before it bogs down on you...?
I have pushed 500 mls through a single filter with a caulking gun before but I went down to switching out every 200ml after a bit.

These days I just use a bottle top filter and a vacuum though. You'll never go back after that.

500mls through a syringe filter thats alot. im flat out getting 60mls before it turns into a old man with a prostate problem. DRIP DRIP DRIP
Or the filter blows from to much pressure. What filters are you using I might have to try them see how they go...?

I have only been pushing 45 mLs through mine... but I haven't brewed a batch bigger than 90 mLs either. I'd rather go through a couple extra filters than have to deal with cleaning up a popped filter (again), or waste time changing filter only to filter 10 more mL

Yes I had one filter let go internally, the last 3ml of 20ml vial. Filter particles al the way through it. Just binned it can't be bothered refiltering 20ml..do you use a calking gun...?

They were whatmans when I first started brewing and didn't grasp why things would slow to a crawl towards the end:)

I was using a powered caulking gun which allowed me some room for stupidity as long as I had time to burn.

Yea, that seems to be the only realistic way to do it
So I made up this little contraption works great, so its a core drill stand $50 second hand. A piece of 60.33 round billet aluminum $10 had to file the clamp out a fraction for it to fit properly. I bought it longer than needed just in case I use a smaller syringe so I can drop the billet down lower to make it easier. The bracket for the syringe to sit in is 10mm alloy, I did 6mm plate the first time and it flexed to much from the pressure..put the filter in place first from underneath then screw the syringe in from the top it is locked in does not move..nestbtime I use it I'll take a vid and post it..

Any one had BB in a solid I received it in a solid said to heat to dissolve this normal
Not me personally but:

“It is the ester of benzyl alcohol and benzoic acid. It forms either a viscous liquid or solid flakesand has a weak, sweet-balsamic odor.” -wiki

But even pubchem says it can be solid.

So it’s possible
