What Are You Training Today?

Lots of hammers, jm press (hit 315 for 5), my set up was off, came down at throat instead of upper chest where I wanted, after which I reset and banged out 18 with 225 and 30 with 135. Bummed but whatever. Finished off tricep work and headed home.

Couldn't touch my face, so I say, that was a productive arm day[emoji123]
 
Today's GVT chest/back workout fueled by pre sell out green day (dookie, anyone)?

I decided to throw in a strength day of deads bench and rows all for 3x5 (squats separately on lower gvt day)... Let's just say that adding that in has made todays workout that much fucking harder- but I love it!
 
Squat 1st. You need the bench between deads and squats.

Yeah. I didnt think about that. One of the books I read said always do squat first because bench takes more energy out of your legs and can effect your squats more than squats will effect bench. But my thinking before your comment was that my bench might be sucking because of energy used on squats. Didnt even think about a break between them and DLs.

So Squats, bench, Dl...that's my final answer...maybe some incline situps.

Bench won't affect your squat that much but you want something in between the squats and deadlifts to allow your lower body some time to recover.
 
Trying something new for the last few weeks.

Shoulders
Standing overhead press 90x12 side laterals 20x12 15 crunches.
do this four times fast pace no stopping. This is one set. wait until heart rate drops a little and do it again


Cable upright row with rope 57.5 x12 front lateral with 45 plate x12 15 crunches. four times, no rest fast pace. Heart rate down do it again.

Face pulls with rope 57.5 x12 shrugs with 45 plates 15 crunches. Four times no rest fast pace. Heart rate down do it again

150lb DB farmer carry 75 feet three times with rest in between.

It's not a lot of weight but you are drenched and your shoulders are burning.
 
How are you liking the farmers carry? Been thinking about adding them.
They are great. Traps are blowing up from them. When I carry the DBs i have my traps in a full shrug position. Now here is something you should know. The first time I did them I grabbed 150's and strapped in tight. I lifted them and they swung off the rack and did the carry. I then discovered I could not swing them forward enough to get them back on the rack. My next thought was to bend over and place them on the floor. No Good! My back spasimed a little and that stood me back up fast. Next thought was just drop them. I opened my hand and nothing happened except the straps dug into my wrists more. In a panic I walked them over to the flat bench just as a guy was sitting up after a set. Without asking I plopped them on the bench behind him, unstrapped and carried them one at a time back to the rack. Now I set the bench up ahead of time and put water bottle on it so no one lays on it when I am in the middle of a carry. Give them a try and let me know what you think.

Military press 4x8, 110
Snatch grip Upright row 4x8, 110,
Arnold press 3x10, 30

Seated side lateral SS plate shrugs. 7x12. 10s(yeah yeah, the pink ones) and 45 plates, respectively.

Farmers carry. 90s. No distance marked out, but managed a steady walk for 60s, 45s, and 30s. These are worth it just for the grip work without straps. Might buy some straps so I can go heavier for longer. Was seeing stars around 50s on the first set. Grip failed me out before that point on subsequent attempts.

@Rocco the Dog, farming is some hard work bro! My traps are fucking killing me! Thanks for the write up on that, I like.
 
Looks like u could use some help insert owning the last 4-5 posts.,think my last workout was back few days ago ahh..everything feels so lite 3 months off almost , i been easing back in last couple weeks nothing serious . but honestly I'm almost same place I was that never happens 55 lb dumbbell curls 200 lb rows 215 pull downs.345 bench ..kinda pumped only a few LBZ off everything. Except legs they the same .
