Coronavirus affecting everyone and everything

Businesses closed, store shelves bare, shipments being postponed. I’m in construction, and they’re telling us to expect some time of real soon. Guess I’ll use the time off to stockpile some fish, maybe shoot a turkey. Nothing better than fresh eats. Probably start working on the garden as well. Love some fresh veggies. Have two international packages incoming, hard telling how long those will sit in customs. Even domestic shipments are taking a hit. I have a pack that has been stalled on the west coast for a week now. Hoping for a quick resolution to the whole situation. This isn’t going to be good for anyone. Best wishes, and stay safe out there.

Yes it sure is getting bad out there and I am hunkering down myself at home. Still have a job that allows me to work at home so there's still an income but for people in your situation it can get dire. Save what you can and stay safe yourself!

Do the world a favor and lick every shopping cart handle in your largest metropolitan area :)

If they truly cared, then they’d be offering online courses and deputizing people to be nurses. We don’t have registrations to be a nurse but I would say 75% of us here could do an IV properly. There’s no reason the healthcare profession should get swamped.
Lots of issues to discuss with this. CORI checks have to be run to allow any new healthcare professional to be hired. Most states have been scrambling to get remote access to employees so this work can continue from home. This isn't an easy task. Massachusetts has over 120,000 CORI checks monthly. Mobilizing this isn't an easy, nor has this been thought of before. Networks aren't setup for this, internal state processes aren't either.

One of the last things I have done for the state of Massachusetts is set up vtc operations in a handful of makeshift NOC locations, maybe 10/11 in total. Basically every major greater Boston area had started prepping for this a month ago, and they're still augmenting their workflow to get these checks done. I believe they are doing their best to keep up.

This issues has really pushed our civil servants past where they ever expected to be. It's truly an epic thing to live through. Lots of shit to sift through after the dust settles.

Pretty simple, roll out chloroquine now!!

There’s a reason Africa has damn near zero cases!!!!!
The stats on that med are amazing when it works, but it only works on a very small portion of folks that have had it administered according to the "professionals"

We could prolly put in IV’s but saying one could just “be a nurse” through a few online classes is pretty dis-respectful. I think any nurse would agree.

I understand what you mean though.

It's interesting to see how info moves around. I've heard and read just about everything at this point. Hopefully that news is accurate and the med is put into distribution asap

The main thing, it will not hurt you if you take it, plus you won’t get malaria [emoji16]

It can hurt you. Most every drug has side effects. My doctor tried putting me on this drug years ago to fight my rheumatoid arthritis. From what I remember it can fuck with your vision. I said no thanks.

All meds have sides, but if you have COVID-19......take the risk

If I needed something to fight covid, I'd take what was recommended. Are the vision problems lifelong or temp? God, this shit is retarded

I didn’t mean to downplay their role. Just meaning we don’t need to leave sick people dying in the hallways! They could have different levels of expertise in order to maximize the effectiveness. That’s all.

Everyone step it up. Nurses could be better used doing almost doctor level roles.

In a time of need you do whatever is needed.

If you already have retina issues it's not recommended, so short of that its usually reversible once you stop taking it. For me they tried putting me on 3 meds and I said no thanks, collectively the side effects were worse to me than the inflammation that I have to deal with.

I saw 75% or so depending on the study. It’s too early to roll out any drug though, INCLUDING a vaccine
