Planning around a major surgery

I have a major surgery coming up in one year. The advice is that you’ll not be able to exercise at all for four weeks, and no strenuous exercise until eight weeks after surgery. It’s jaw surgery for sleep apnea and bite correction.

Currently I am just cruising on 250mg Test U and haven’t done anything else for about two years now. Pretty much just a slightly overdone TRT that gives me 1200ng or so. I doubt I could ever PCT off at this point.

I would like to look my best in Summer 2026 which means I will need to try and add some muscles. Either way I will do a tren cycle once the 8 weeks recovery period is up but I’d like to use the preceding year to make some gains as well without endangering my health for the surgery.

It would be nice to run higher dose test U through the surgery to prevent muscle wasting during the 4-8 weeks but I’m not sure if this is sensible medically.

Has anyone been through a similar experience and have suggestions on what to do? The base case of course is just not to change anything and stay on 250mg but obviously I won’t make much progress this year if I do that. Likewise I’m not sure if there’s any point doing a blast this year (with all the health impact it implies) if it will just all atrophy away during the recovery anyway.

I had spine fusion on L5-S1, so kind of major surgery. I came off completely 3 months before surgery to clear my bloodwork. 1 week after surgery I started test around 200 mg/week, hgh 5iu, tb500/bpc157, 10 mg anavar/day. Im little bit past 2 months and Im still on that stack except bpc and tb, and im doing pretty good, walking around 7-10 km a day and doing some light excersises at home. Doctors said full on recovery takes 10
Months and im sure im going to take few months off usual recovery time. If I can help you in some other way feel free to ask.

I had surgery to repair w hernias above my belly button 6 weeks ago.. I come off cycle and cruise test/primo at 225/200 about 2 months before. And during.. taking testosterone around a major surgery will increase your risk of a post optical pulmonary embolism..
Either way , I'm not doing intense ab workouts yet but I hoped back on the week and away we go my friend.. NBD just listen to your dr.s and be honest with them about what you are putting in your body at the time regardless of what other people say.. listen to the medical professionals advice, heal up and get after it!!!

You have a lot of time to run a more typical cycle and get testosterone levels back down to normal before the surgery (Test U is rarely used for a blast).

Are you hell bent on Test U? Or maybe a shorter ester + whatever other compound you like.

I have had 5 ventricular hernia surgeries in the last 20 years....advice on abs body weight only no weighted crunches...once you have a hernia repaired with mesh it can weaken the surrounding fascia

I've never come off for a surgery. I just up the GH and throw in peptides. Went over 30IUs for gyno surgery and stayed on well over a gram of anabolics easy including tren. Bounced back incredibly quick and looked even better than before.

I'm not saying this is the smart thing to do.

FML , i just recently found out that i "re-ruptered" my already repaired bicep tendon (8 years ago) at the shoulder and the mri showed torn rotator cuffs, I don't have Any real pain though, and i have full rom , just slightly weaker during shoulder presses etc, so im not really sure how long its been re-injured, im waiting to discuss things with the orthopedic, but at this point in my life (52) i feel like i don't really want to go through that particular surgery as it is quite a recovery to say the least, my days of heavy lifting have long passed , so im really having issues within myself about repairing it, , Im very open to ANY suggestions from the Meso Brothers,, Tia,,

I don't know enough about that particular issue..I tore my acl 30 years ago and never got it repaired...until had a tkr due to cartilage loss... I just wrapped if up real good and never went to heavy on squats and such

I was wondering about this because I had inguinal hernia surgery before I was on anything. I need to have the other side done soon. I was imagining I would probably need to come off of TRT because the pre surgery labs. You know just even on trt everything is a little elevated.... Hemoglobin and red blood cells , hematocrit....I imagine the doctor wants to see everything in range correct? Do you recommend telling the doctor I'm on self-prescribed trt? I mean I used to have a prescription for a couple years but that was about 3 years ago. I usually take 200 a week that's why my bloods look a little iffy sometimes. I was thinking maybe what if I cut my dose in half maybe my blood markers would look a lot better before the surgery. Thanks for your reply

Did the doctor say anything about your blood work before the surgery? I mean I'm sure some things are out of spec right?

I would never tell any doctor you take anything that’s not prescribed.

My blood work is pretty horrible so I’m going to half my TRT dose down to 750 ng/dL until my surgery is over. The absolute worst thing would be having paid for your surgery and they just tell you “nah” on the day.

It’s really sad for me that my HCT goes to shit and my lipids and liver enzymes are borderline shit even on 250mg a week.

They only do a basic panel with stuff like hematocrit, electrolytes etc to make sure you are healthy enough for anesthesia. Why would they test anything else for a hernia surgery? At least for me they didn't and I've had a bunch of surgeries. My red blood cells never get too high anyway as I have slight anemia.

I think you are over thinking it. You don't need to have perfect blood markers. Obviously you don't want to list all the shit you are taking on the anesthesia form but I have never bothered to hide I'm blasting gear. I pointed it out before the gyno surgery and said I will keep using gear so make sure there is absolutely no possibility that the gyno will reoccur.

I had hernia surgery 2 weeks ago and I just skipped the prescription drugs part on the form completely because I was lazy. I think that was the 4th surgery I've had while I've been on tren and other stuff (must be over 2 grams total everything combined). Couldn't even take a shit for the first few days because of the pain. Back in the gym and completely pain free after a week. So far it has been a breeze.

Was worried because my last labs look pretty bad but I didn't donate for 6 months and this is on 5IU of GH and 200 test. So these Labs were after 4 months of cruising but prior to that 4 months of blasting. I should have donated more. Do you think they would still operate on me with these labs currently? I think I can clean them up quite a bit though. I'm going to start metformin soon because this is the highest my fasted glucose has ever been. It's usually about 99

I had inguinal lapriscopic repair with mesh. Only two tiny cuts. No stitches even after it's over. Very happy with the results. Four years zero issues. I just gotta do other side. If you know about inguinal hernias when you have one side done it's just a matter of time before you need it done on the other side usually since it's inside you sperm cord tubes.

Umbilical with sutures since it was minor.

Hematocrit seems high and I believe it can increase the risk of complications. I don't think they'd care about the other stuff. These surgeries are often done on seniors. I doubt they have perfect blood work.

How bad is the other side? My surgeon said the other said looked fine. I guess he’s just trying to milk another $50K surgery out of me?

They never tell you about the gas pains…
