Thanks, I'm getting there. They're only like 17's I think, but I almost never do direct arm work either.
They look impressive especially with you not doing direct arm stuff. I do forearm exercises all the time and can't get mine looking like that. I'm still trying to get my bench numbers up. I'm aiming for 305 next week..... or maybe the next. That 295 I did the other day was heavy but I'm getting there.

How many more weeks you got? I bet you get 315 before it's over.

1 set 1 rep

PR by about 10lbs. lightweight wish i would have gone for 515-520 but saving that for the platform. i probably would have been able to do a second rep.

got Bench up today. shooting for somewhere between 375-380. depends on how fast 360 moves now that im on a competition bench and not a super lower commercial gym bench.

also weighed myself this morning at work on our shipping scale before eating and just drinking some water. 239.5. ill get some pics up in the next couple days.

im hoping to break into the 1600's at this meet then upper 1600's, with the hope of cracking 1700 in december at that meet. with my second attempts it puts me at 1530. would have liked that to have been 1550 but im happy with that considering all of the problems i had at the start of prep.

I'd have been there if I was still 220lbs or more. If everything goes perfect I think I can get 1500. My second attempts will put me in the 1400's.

1 set 1 rep

15 pound PR. Originally thought it was 375. My gym has competition bars set up behind the desk and I just grabbed the first Bench bar I saw. When I put it back I realized the bar I grabbed has thicker and longer than the other regulation bars.

Probably could have added another 5-10 pounds on the bar and completed the lift. I'm sure with the thinner bar it would have helped also.
 
So I'm just finishing up my last deload week workout and I'd like to hear opinions on my training plan until my next blast starts in a few months. I've been using the texas method for a while now and I've gotten pretty beat up from it, so I wrote up this routine with the goal of maintaining strength while keeping intensity and workload relatively low to let myself heal up and get healthy.

Push monday:
Push press 3x8 (3 sets of 8)
Squat 3x8
Paused Bench 3x8

Pull wednesday:
Deadlift 1x8
Chins ? Depends on bodyweight

Push friday:
Push press 3x8
Squat 3x8
Paused Incline bench 3x8

Pull saturday:
Power clean 6x2
Chins ? Depends on bodyweight
GHR 3x8
Chest supported row 3x8


I think only having 2-4 exercises per workout will be a really nice mental break for me also. What does everyone think?

Looks good to me, but I'd vary the reps week to week and have 2-3 ranges to work in. Also sets of 8 paused bench seems like a lot of paused reps. That's just my own personal preference though. I'd do TNG 8's one week and paused 3-5's the next or something similar.

Good advice, I'll do that. Thanks. The goal isn't to gain size and strength anyway, so it doesn't have to be perfect.

I hear you, it's too maintain and heal, right? I'm just not fond of hitting the same reps week after week. If I was in your shoes I'd set up a 5, 8 and 10 rotation or even just two of them. Or go DUP style and vary day by day. It'd be a nice change of pace if you feel the current one is getting stale.

Yeah I just want to maintain what I have and get healthy
 
I've got three easy workouts this week and then it's deload until the meet.

Today: 2 singles at 450 on squat
Thursday: 2 singles at 335 on bench
Saturday or Sunday: 2 singles at 550 on deadlift.

All these weights will be my openers, some have been adjusted slightly per my coach's recommendation.

In other news I've been doing much lower carb this week, I'm interested to see where my weight is his evening. I'm also working out the financial details to be able to order a new set of knee wraps. Coach says this late where I can't test them I should just get a new pair of the same ones I have.

Also, thought it was time for an avi change with all the recent life changes. Hope it doesn't freak you out too much @RodgerThat but it's at least still in character. I know how you hate avatar changes.

It bothers me a lot as you know but it's easier for me then when @jaymaximus went from being russel Crowe to the mystery man behind the mask. Looks like some good openers to me bud.
