Accutane permanent cure?

@Ghoul I know some doctors are big on labs. Did you run frequent bloods?

No, I had a liver function test towards the end as part of a routine physical and it wasn't elevated.

This incidence of non-temporary liver issues caused by isotretinoin is exceedingly low.

I'm not saying. it's not a good idea, but knowing I had no preexisting liver problems and the very low probability of issues made me comfortable skipping them. I also don't drink alcohol or use oral AAS.

Some docs now run bloods before starting to ensure there aren't any issues, and no further checks after that.

Understood. Thank you. Going to start digging into 10-20mg doses.

Had rough acne as a teen. All went away. But I get crushed with cystic acne on my shoulders and back when I come down to cruising now.

10-20 was nearly the worst when it came to sides for me. 80 was less by the time I got that high. They seem the worst at the start of each dose level, and settle down after 5 or so days at that dose.

Done with accutane, but that hyaluronic lip balm continues to be a permanent fixture lol. Just great stuff.

Probably an illegally high concentration of hyaluronic acid or something, considering the source, but damn it works so well.

It's got me on the hunt for other hyaluronic acid products.

1 gram, a quarter teaspoon, holds a gallon and half of water!
Are you talking about SADOER Hyaluronic Acid Lip balm that is available on AliExpress?

I haven't tried that brand. I've been referring to Okanen . Linked below (Do not buy from this place, it's literally 95% less elsewhere when you buy a 6 pack). It's as good as the $30 per stick US brands. It goes quick, and since your lips absorb it you have to reapply it more often than a wax that sits on top, but with continuous use your lips stay moisturized longer and longer. Very effective at countering accutane chelitis (dried lips).

2.5 weeks in, at 60mg/day with minimal side effects. I thought about accelerating the dose increases but took a look at the half-life and thought better of it. Forehead, nose, and parts of cheeks are starting to flake. Oil production seems way down on forehead, which is good because it was bad enough to be shiny. Pretty encouraged. I'm usually someone who gets all the side effects, including the corner case ones. My lip balm order from Temu will finally be here today, which is good as my lips are just now starting to dry out. I started adding in some olive oil with breakfast, because I really wasn't getting enough fat. Even then, it's only around 18g, but it's close enough to the stated 20g.

Early days but sounds good so far brother!

Made this spreadsheet, which is likely of limited use for others. It doesn't do any calculations and just offers a formatted way of keeping track of existing quantities, dosing patterns for that week, and what's left over for that week to be carried over into the next. Not knowing my response/tolerance, I bought in bulk per Ghoul's recommendation a set of all strengths. Trying to think ahead, I didn't want to end up with some odd number that wouldn't meet my daily dose (like having nothing but 30mg softgels left and being at 160mg a day). This starts in at my fourth week, so I started with reduced quantities.

It may end up this schedule gets altered if I hit a dose that just hits hard and requires me to stop increasing for a while.

Spreadsheet should be clean of any metadata.

Up to 100mg as of today. Skin on face is tighter and looks better. I can feel it stretch when making expressions or opening my mouth, and face just looks leaner and more defined. Turkey neck under chin is also less prominent. I wonder how many people mistake "moon face" or facial bloat as something else like estrogen and instead have an issue of monster oil glands and/or pores. Skin is much cleaner, as well, since all that oil is not acting as an attractor for dirt. Still no major side effects. Only minor ones are some lip dryness and a limited amount of skin scaling (not sure of the technical term). I remain optimistic and encouraged, as I'm not yet even up to full dose, which will hit in three more weeks (160mg a day).

Am I calculating something wrong here?
150-220mg/kg
80kg
$6/100mg (assuming the product on pct zone sotret 8 is ~100mg equivalent)

That's $700-$1000 for this treatment? Or are yall getting it way cheaper?

pct zone are double the price of going direct to the pharmacy in my experience so you can likely do it for around half that price on sotret 8mg and around $50 on Accufine/Signatret.

@Ghoul
Going to place an order for acufine. Do you still recommend the quantities you suggested earlier in this thread. Or do you have a new suggestion since you have run it. Looking mainly to shrink glands and get rid of as much sebum out my face and nose as possible. And get the oil production way down. I take 4 showers a day and you can still easily identify what side of the bed I sleep on. Acne is not horrible on lower dowses but when I blast I typically have to call it early because the cystic acne gets out of control.

Permanent sebum reduction needs the highest doses of all.

After 220mg/kg it still "bounced back" to a degree, though much much less than before. A good thing since it does get too dry while on it.

But I can still skip a day of hair washing without it becoming a greasy mess. A huge improvement.

So go for 220mg/kg, my skin has never looked better, and the hyperseborrhea seems to be cured.

Wish I had done this decades ago.

Make sure you have good lip balm, and keep in mind as this will go into the warmer months. you must avoid sun exposure or use a good sunblock. Skin will be susceptible to easy burning while using it.

Thank you sir. Yeah a little worried about not being able to sun. I live in Florida it’s 85 degrees right now I was at the beach all day yesterday. I am tan some would say bronze. Wonder if I’ll be able to keep a tan or if I’m going to peel into a whitey.

Expect it to clear, then suddenly get worse for a short period, then clear again (and stay clear as long as you continue) If you stay on for long enough. That's normal.

It literally reprograms the cells that line your pores to function better. but they become vulnerable during the transformation and acne causing bacteria briefly thrive.
