I’ll post up some pics when I get the pump and stuff. Thanks @superbane @Iron Vett for the input. Much appreciated.

Ditto. Looks nice @Iron VettI like @Iron Vett setup @Thegreek it serves both purposes that I was speaking of. The way he has it plumbed. I just couldn’t visually see it in my head, but I’m going to replumb mine like that now lol

So this is my set up. Line comes off vacuum pump to gauge continues to a needle valve that I can control vacuum and release the vacuum when finished. After the needle valve would be the hose going to the filter. Haven’t used it yet but crimped the end of the line and turned pump on. Immediately pulled 30hg. With the needle valve I adjusted the release of vacuum till I got to 15 and it held perfectly. I can literally adjust it a single digit at a time. I set it up this way so I didn’t have to touch the factory fitting. A simple twist of the flare nut at the pump and the whole line comes off. Easy clean up and storage.
Oh yeah that's money right there. Vacuum pump porn. I love how it's all in line. I'm gonna have to do this later this week.View attachment 99168 @Iron Vett

Nice. Be sure not to bump your gauge too hard since it is hanging loose. The bourdon tube in the gauge is a very delicate item and can be damaged somewhat easily and your gauge won’t read accurate anymore.
It’s nice you were able to retain the fitting for the a/c. I would have also but they didn’t have any adapters where I bought my stuff at. I feel if I need to go back to the original setup I can just back off the king nipple the tubing attaches to and just screw it back in there and the close the valve.
You should enjoy your setup immensely over syringe filtering.

I assume you can get the pressure right to use a complete sterile bottle top filter so the plastic receiver doesn't crack. One less piece of glassware to sterilize. What pressure do you keep your filters at? @Iron VettI hear ya. I planned it this way to break it down easy and to keep the gauge close to the filter and valve. It lays flat on the countertop even when the other end is hooked to the filter so hitting it shouldn’t be an issue. Just have to be careful when I break it down and store it. Fuck syringe filtering. I’ve only done it a few times and I hate it. All my other brews were with a hand brake bleeder pump. Fuck that too. I’d rather just spend a few more dollars on the raws and filter and just let this thing do the work.

You would think that they would make them out of a softer plastic or something. Cause that would be really convenient. I'm gonna have to scoop up a few more media bottles. I'm about to brew TPP, NPP, Tren A for the first time.I’ve cracked a few of the plastic ones between 12-15. Switched to glass and never had a problem. The foxx sciences filters that you can get on med lab supply operate at 15. They can handle a little more but you may burst the membrane.
Yeah I used to use a Wheaton media bottle with a big septa cap and syringe filters and after my fist brew I said fuck that. Lol. I just can't believe I haven't torn a filter they way I've been using my vacuum. Very reckless. I'll post some pics of the new pump set up next weekend. All my larger brews were with a hand pump (sucked ass). Like @Iron Vett said being able to adjust the pressure accurately you could easily get the sterile filter and the storage bottle combo and be done with it. Just set it and forget it.
@Thegreek @Iron Vett @LordSamuilo what do you keep your pressure at for whatman?
I'm about to improve the set up and brew up my first short esters. I've never realized how reckless I've been with my filters until recently.
I agree with @Iron Vett The foxx science filters which seem to be of a pretty high quality company specifically say 15hg.@Thegreek @Iron Vett @LordSamuilo what do you keep your pressure at for whatman?

Go on amazon and look up 100 or 250ml media bottles. Corning makes a good one. Fairly cheap too. Heavy glass also.@Iron Vett - do you have a pic of your glassware? It must be quality, so I’m curious what you have going.
