Yeah I hear ya. There is a whole bunch of different setups but I think for the average brewer who uses mostly and maybe just sells a little here and there the disposable setups are the way to go. I’m sure the filter disks work fine but it seems like extra work and on hand material. Especially if you have to sterilize them. I’d rather spend a few extra dollars and keep it simple. Then again I’ve never really looked into it so I can’t truly comment.

Yeah. Check out med lab supply for all filters and brewing stuff. You can get stuff cheaper and faster on amazon or else where but MLS will give you a good idea of what’s out there to use

I run mine in the same range . Ive run them higher but 15-20 is where i feel comfortable to not damage the filter membrane , and still have a nice steady flow .
You brew TPP, NPP, Tren A all at 2/18? (MCT will be carrier, also not blends. All at 100)

Ive brewed them all at 2/18% before and it works fine . I personally use 1/19% as my standard brew ratio , but It honestly doesnt make much difference especially with normal compounds. Its just a preference thing , 2/18 in mct will work great.

You overdose by 5% on short esters? I can't remember if we discussed that before.... Lol dude thanks again over the last year or so. You've helped me a lot.

Maybe that was @picholas said he overdosed 5 on short esters. I've always done ten on long.

No i dont typically overdose , but i also test my gear either through hplc or melting point . So ive always got a relatively good idea of what im working with . 10% shouldnt be an issue on short ester compounds @ 2/18% though ...

but I cant say 100% because anything i brew that is atypical (high concentration, blends , pwo ) i use miglyol or ethyl oleate . And ive made made some pretty ridiculous concoctions at 1/19% w those carriers . So a simple 10% overdose doesnt seem like it would be an issue .

So this is my set up. Line comes off vacuum pump to gauge continues to a needle valve that I can control vacuum and release the vacuum when finished. After the needle valve would be the hose going to the filter. Haven’t used it yet but crimped the end of the line and turned pump on. Immediately pulled 30hg. With the needle valve I adjusted the release of vacuum till I got to 15 and it held perfectly. I can literally adjust it a single digit at a time. I set it up this way so I didn’t have to touch the factory fitting. A simple twist of the flare nut at the pump and the whole line comes off. Easy clean up and storage.
Is it necessary to have a gauge with oil in it? Asking because ACE hardware has a 0-30psi gauge (no oil) for like ten bucks. And I'm sure I can find all the other fittings there as well.

No it’s not necessary but the higher end models do. It allows for a more accurate reading because the oil takes out the vibrations. Probably does more but not sure. You can definitely get all the fittings at Ace or Home Depot but I’m pretty sure you don’t have the right gauge. You need a vacuum gauge not a pressure gauge. A pressure gauge reads positively from left to right in PSI. A vacuum gauge reads negatively from right to left in HG.

Yeah I just saw that. It's all good. I'll just have to make a few stops. Found one at Grainger. Lol I'm just gonna bring the pic of your set up and ask the dude where all these fittings are.... To filter my homemade e-cig liquid of course.

Grainger will definitely have it. As for the fittings just be careful. Pipe fittings and hose fittings are not the same. If you bring the fitting from the pump and the inlet nozzle from the filter with you you should be able to size everything up to filter that glorious e cig oil.
