brutus79 and jballz get swole

I'm in brother. If that is 18% I'm really glad I'm a powerlifter because that puts me well over 20%. I would have guessed 14-15%.

...and I'm not taking my shirt off around any of you chest hair bashers. If you think Brutus is hairy you will be calling me Bigfoot.
I'll be leaning on you guys heavily come october. You guys were my inspiration on this decision to train FOR something... gave new meaning to the iron for me.

Waiting for @insertnamehere and @weighted chinup to join the party too... maybe they are just waiting till I move manly weights.
Time to get this show started.

I was out of town on business for several days and saw how many posts there were in here and thought I was late to the party. Then I saw you started this morning. I forgot how popular you were. I need to start fucking with people more often!

Glad to help with anything I can but it sounds like you are going to be in good hands at the new gym come October.

I found out Orlando barbell is Brian Schwab 's gym. Gonna try and set a few pilgrimage type trips

Yes it is. I was going to buy a home GHR they make but ended up selling some other equipment to make room for a full size one.

Brian can tell you not only how to best perform a movement but also why. Definitely a ton of powerlifting knowledge and I'm sure it would be worth making the trip at least a few times.

Well in paying it foward, since I'm gonna be stealing sooooo much mojo from this thread, I will b attempting to JM Press 300 for 8-10 tomorrow, I hit 285 for 10 prior to vaca.

This 1's for Brutus and JohnnyBallz[emoji123]

Masters if you're BigFoot then scientists have yet to even classify my level of hairiness lol. Ask Brutus, I'm basically like a living Brillo pad of hair

I'm at your disposal. Insertnamehere and WC will be along shortly. If I know anything about those guys it's that they cannot stay away from a strength log like this

I'm here, brother. You're already moving some serious weight. You'll be pushing mid 4s on bench, 5's on squat, and 6's on deads by the end of the year for sure. October can't come soon enough.

Can't believe I showed up late for this. You got this, I'll be following. 290 is well within your reach. What I really look forward to is seeing where your strength goes once you make the switch in October. Your numbers going in are already impressive, so I have no doubt we will be seeing some disgustingly strong PR's take place in the coming months.

Maybe I missed it but what powerlifting program did you have in mind?

He will be working with my coach so it's more than likely to be a block periodization template customized to his strengths and weaknesses. If coach really trusts him, he'll add in the RPE scale but that generally doesn't happen right away.

Thats badass. I was reading mike tuchscherers reactive training system on powerliftingtowin today, trying to wrap my head around it. RPE makes alot of sense but I would have to have a coach, I think I would end up cheating myself on my off days. Plus just starting out on powerlifting I would imagine its hard to determine youre true readiness.

I'm writing an article explaining how to use RPE and all that comes along with it from the RTS standpoint for my other forum. I might post it here as well. If you look at my log you'll see the RTS/RPE principles applied. Basically what RPE does is allow you to control fatigue in a day to day basis. Instead of chasing number and percentages like you would with Sheiko for example, you try to apply the right dose of stress without percentages.

For example, let's say Sheiko had you working 6sets of doubles at 91% 1RM. In an ideal setting Sheiko would be there to tailor the percentage or volume depending on how you perform that day. Since we don't have Sheiko we cannot do this. For RPE IT WOULD LOOk something like this

A double at 91% equates to RPE 9 in the general template. So you work up in doubles to whatever weight you feel is RPE 9. Let's say this was 300lbs. This is your top set. Then you take let's say a 5% fatigue load drop so 5% of 300 is 285. You drop the load, from 300 to 285lbs and continue to work in sets of 2 until this becomes an RPE 9 again. If you're fatigued that day it may take 2 sets after the top set. If you're energized that day it may take 6sets but it's auto regulated based on you're performance that day. If that doesn't make sense let me know to re-explain.

I too thought I'd fend of slacking which is no good for me ll
