Favorite dog breeds?

Seriously didn't mean for you take it as talking shit

It's my opinion on a pet vs. a strictly working dog. I can't stand trying to humanely control a pet that has a prong collar in place.

I'm not judging you or talking shit about you. I just don't agree. I can control any domesticated animal well with a snugly fit collar and an "easy walk harness" or "Gentle Leader."

If they can't be controlled with that, they either lack training, missed a critical training window in their lives, or are simply meant to be a loaded weapon (police, guard dog etc.)

Not trying to preach. I have no doubt you love your pets and take great care of them.

I did love Narta's comment through about dog parks and that being a "human form" of dog interaction...spot on. We try to anthropomorphize our pets and assume they want the same kind of interactions we want.

Hell, Im (mostly) human and I'd probably want to tear the throat out of random strangers at the park if I was forced to go every day..lol. (we and our dogs are all wired a little differently...haha)
Everyone who wanted to talk shit to me about the collar, Lee priest who I’ve followed for years has 2 thick am staff’s I’m. Pretty sure boy and girl. Not staffies? He tryed to put both leashes in one hand and walk the dogs, the dogs not even aggressive got excited and tore his whole shoulder, and this is a strong jacked lifetime bodybuilder. Still looks great for his age. “ watch this video”

My Jack Russell Rusty was my fave. He couldn't stand it when I had to goto work. He loved the boat rides, chasing birds on sandbars, but couldn't swim a lick, unless he had his best on.

Out at the camp, we had around a dozen working hounds. Most a Bluetick/Walker cross. Cold nosed dogs that could run fast all day.

I like dogs more than people at this point in my life.

Was that the breed of the super cute dog they had in the sitcom, Frasier?
They must be really fun and smart.

Agree, dogs are way easier to love than people.
Uncomplicated, loyal, perceptive and patient.

Yes exactly. Just like Winnie the Poohs Tigger, these little guy are made of springs!
Super intelligent, even too much so.very loyal, absolutely no fear! Reflexes like a mongoose, darting in and bouncing back of any percieved threat.
On the weekends, I'd make breakfast, scramble some eggs for him and set him at the bar with a plate in front of him. Hed wait for me to sit down then we'd dig in.
Instead of sleeping in the bed, he would go under the bed in his little man cave.

wired-hair(?) Jack Russel

I can summarize JRT as a dog that fell in a tub of cocaine when it was born and the feed it lsd for puppy food.

Those fuckers can go on and on for a week, sleep for 3 minutes and go at it again.

Originally breed for rat hunting

You summed that up very accurately. Only two speeds, wide open, or just standing there shaking, think about being wide open!
Was walking him one day on a springy roll up leash, when he went after a squirrel, pulling the reel from my hand. It wound back up so fast, it smacked him in the ass, and he was gone again! This repeated for awhile, had to get the car and go after him!

@narta I saw this, and thought of you.
This place has one of those satanic dogs up for adoption.
He is called Moose

Can't believe someone here had one of those...

Thought the only 2 sold, ever, were yours, lol.

I imagine you cannot adopt him, or he will have your dogs for breakfast (or viceversa?), but maybe you know someone in the UK who can adopt him because:

1) he lives alone, is single, and plans to remain so for the foreseeable future

2) he does not mind locking himself in his bedroom at night, in case the dog is able to reach for the door handle

3) does not mind the fact these dogs have eyes that glow bright red in the dark, all the way from hell

Otherwise, fine and dandy.
Here:

P.S. they may have removed/updated/ changed the details, because they were from yesterday, but it is that dog sanctuary that has him

Say what you want about my choice in breeds, but I’ve got the coolest little 5 pound yorkie in the world. She’s fucking awesome. Her name is Millie and I like her more than the majority of most people I know. She’s always happy to see me and greets me at the door with a little wagging tale and happy look on her face very time I come in. She doesn’t shed, never chews on anything, doesn’t ever smell bad, lets me know any time someone pulls up to the house. Best pup I’ve ever had. Won’t ever get anything else besides another yorkie.

My wife and I have always been in love with Great Pyrenees (large property, plenty of area for the dog to guard as they are guard dogs at the end of the day).

Found this guy up for adoption after being left tied up in a junk yard. Turns out he’s perfectly 50% golden retriever and 50% Great Pyrenees.

Has been the most perfect animal I’ve ever known, despite his shitty upbringing. Total recall when hiking off leash, protects my wife to a fault, gentle giant with other animals and kids (when not on his property, he will die trying to stop another animal or person coming onto the property if we don’t give the “they’re all good!!”).

Couldn’t ask for a more amazing dog. Will definitely be the toughest dog to say goodbye to one day and I’m not looking forward to it.

OMG
So gorgeous. Can we know his name?
He sounds like such an amazing creature.

Fantastic you adopted him.
So many dogs unwanted and abandoned but people do not think twice about spending crazy money to buy one, even knowing that is the case.
He is forever grateful and in awe of you guys for helping him out.

This is super.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures.
