Fructose bad? Even fruit?

View attachment 75242

My son and I blow through this shit each week. We are also currently snacking on snap sugar peas. According to your calculations, I should have died 347 days ago.

After all the bullets and explosions you survived in Afghanistan, are you seriously going to allow blueberries to do you in? I can see your obituary now, honored veteran gave his life for his country only to succumb to blueberries after coming back home.

You and liberals man.
Any point you had is quickly becoming satire.
Liberals this. Liberals that. Fuck mehn

Doc started it.

BTW, I could simply have said that I don't share Doc's implicit bias regarding content sources, but that might have impeded the cognitive fluency for others on the site.

Fructose is just another example of people wishing their problems had this magical single enemy. Cholesterol, fats, carbs, fructose, red meat, etc, etc all examples of people refusing to accept that our health issues are multifaceted (sedentary lifestyles, chronic hypercaloric intake, too much processed foods, not enough fruit & veg, etc). Why is it that people refuse to accept that our health issues are multifaceted? Because that would mean the answers are going to be difficult to find and nobody has time for that.

This desperate need for simplicity applies to researchers as well as general members of the public unfortunately. Plenty of examples of unrealistic fructose intakes within the literature that are cool to look at if your interested in "what if" scenarios and masturbating over certain pathways but mean absolute jackshit when it comes to practical applicability. I've gone into these study flaws in plenty of detail over on UG but for those interested please see: How to interpret research part I - Fructose

Fructose from soda and fructose from fruit is not the same thing. This should be common sense and anyone who argues otherwise is simply not worth listening to with regards to any nutrition topic :)

Surprised you didn't call me a baby killer, you liberal :p

Unlike liberals I assume measurements will be the same regardless of the individual doing the measuring, so I'm OK with that. At least they use the ISO system.

You missed the point completely. Their bureaucratic entity has different recommendations than ours, and your beloved Canadians, and the English, and the Thai, etc etc etc.

Relax, it was just a joke. You know I only hate you in political threads lol. This isn't, or wasn't, supposed to be one.

It's ironic you mention bias towards sources when the entire argument against fructose is based on bias and hysteria.

It's not ironic at all.

I posted a reference which suggests that it's best to avoid certain fruits based on measurable criteria. And the fruits on the right hand side are those commonly recommended, and those on the left are often recommended that we stay away from. *That's* ironic.

You then, for some reason, opened up the can of snakes with the irrelevant reference to my using a chart apparently coming from Oz.

And the irony continues. Did you check the references from the table of the recommendations you posted? If you didn't the you can possibly understand the irony I'm talkin about.

^^^ that should read "then you can't possibly understand the irony..."

Fruits bad for you... FML.

Take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

I might(might not) think Rambo in your Avi is a bad ass mofo.
Not an avi bro. I caught that asshole curling in the squat rack and just one straw too many. Some thing had to break. Just gotta rip a throat out to get your point across.
That was caught with an ol fashioned panasonic camcorder. You know the ones with the wood side casings and a tape the size of a VHS player? Yup, how we roll!
