Gear review

I saw some rubber stall mats at tractor supply. It was like a 4x6 ft x 3/4". They also had some 1/4", but the mats were 3x4ft I think. The big piece was less than $45.

Ohh the 3/4 inch would put me right about where i want to be. I will have to look around some more.

Just found out there is not 1, but 2, tractor aupply co within 25 miles of me and they have the 4'x6' 3/4 in mats haha
I got 2 4x6 tractor mats for my lifting platform at home cost me like 80 bucks then I just asked if he had any scraps and he had 4 off pieces that were like 18”x18” and charged me 5 bucks for all 4 so ask if they have any cut offs if they cut their own rolls. Size sometimes the end of the roll isn’t big enough so they just make some squares off of it. Proper CrossFit flooring has speckles in it which make the price 20x more expensive cause sparkles make everything better right lol. Literally the exact same density rubber

Haha just gotta have dem dere speckles,. I will definitely ask about that though, if i can score a couple of smaller pieces that would be killer, if not i am more than willing to drop the $45 bucks for a 4x6 piece.

Checking in with some new gear. 75# dumbbell that can hold a bunch of 10# plates on each side made it's way into my gym. Not sure how long it's going to be around but I will be taking advantage while I can, that's for sure.

Also, got these little snap clip things that replace collars. They take up no room in the gym bag, they seem pretty tough and they work. I like them so far, but its only been a few days.20180219_173156.jpg 20180214_170217.jpg

The gap for the handle on that DB looks super small, can you even fit a hand in there?? Maybe just an optical illusion.

It's called a circus dumbbell. Narrow handle is supposed to make it more awkward I think. They also come with really thick handles.
This is a thick handle. 1/4" gap at the closest point, thumb to middle finger.

So I bought the new A7 knee sleeves and even though their sizing made me question (sized up as a small and usually I am a L or XL in sleeves, slightly hate myself that I have a usual size in sleeves ive bought so many kinds) anyways I can’t give the sleeves a test trial due to knee injury and purchasing these the day before I injured myself but I put one on the right leg and it is by far the most comfortable and perfect fitting sleeve I’ve ever put on. It’s tapered back gets none of that build up of material and on the big plus side they are the CHEAPEST knee sleeves of quality on the market! They are now what I will recommend to anyone wanting knee sleeves, I think A7 is doing some dope things for the lifting community too with their bargrip shirts and their compression clothing that is actually affordable (and super comfortable).

The A7 deadlift slippers too also take top spot for a deadlift shoe and is also cheaper then chucks or any other regular deadlift shoe.

Never tried them. But for an msrp of $60 on their website thats not inexpensive my friend.
I have a couple pairs of hookgrip knee sleeves from hookgripstore and they run $12/pair. Their pretty good and have had em a couple yrs with alot of hrs on em. Still work great. $12 is what i would call inexpensive

I have two versions of hook grip as well. The difference in stability and quality is very apparent and worth every little penny. As someone who is currently out of squating due to a dislocated knee and ligament tears I’d say the extra 48$ is well worth the additional knee support and joint warmth
