God

Religion, God, or any of that matter is Superstition. We humans are naturally superstitious to a certain extent. IMHO Any religion of peace and of good morals is a Good superstition to believe in. I’m a big fan of Stoicism, a very real approach to life. More along the “nature” of the world.

“It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live. —Marcus Aurelius, Roman emperor”

Let me preface this by saying 1st that most of my life I have been either agnostic or atheist. When I got clean and sober almost 6 years ago I had no belief in God..none at all whatsoever. My life had completely fallen apart due to alcoholism and severe drug addiction. At my absolute lowest point, I cried out to God because I literally had nowhere else to turn. That very day was the day that the obsession and compulsion to use was taken away. The only thing that I did was ask, from the heart, as honestly as I could. I do attend a 12 step group because I feel it benefits me to be around people that are like me. I realize that this probably doesn't prove anything to anyone, but it absolutely did for me. I do not attend church. I do read some things and pray on a regular basis. So many things in my life have changed since seeking this relationship. My life and my personality have changed dramatically, and I feel as though I'm a better man now.. That was all the proof that I needed for me

That's awesome dude, seriously. I myself was agnostic for a long time, never was a true atheist because I found it arrogant to say there was no God and to be honest, I found atheists to be more pushy, cringy and militant than Christians. Atheism is a religion now in it's own right it seems.

Anyway, I suffered from anxiety and depression issues for years. Meds after meds, either they didn't work or they turned me into a zombie. It wasn't until I actually turned to God, asked for his help and gave my life to him that I actually found peace.

I'm not saying that people should get off of their medications if it helps them. Obviously there's medication in this world for a reason. It's just for me, God was the only thing I needed and I've been perfectly fine ever since.

Now of cource there is no way to prove that God exists as equally there is no way to prove that he does not exist. There is no way to prove science as there is no way to disprove science (evolution) or budhism or islam..or what ever........but it all takes "faith" to belive in "nothing" or to believe in "something"..
So when "faith" is challenged or thrown aside, one must remember that we were not there to "witness the birth of our known and unknown universe". We were not there to witness the "death and resurectiom" of Jesus my saviour.. with our own eyes.... its about faith..
So lets start with the "bible" (Basic Information Before Leaving Earth) ......and let me just say I'm not an authority or expert.... just some things I've picked up over the years...
We know it was writen in Hebrew Aramaic and greek old testement. New testament was mainly Latin....
The bible is a reliable and very acuret part of our history in chronological order of our existence( putting the spiritual aspects of it aside).
we know that scribes were charged to copy page after page word for word the writen word of God. And if one word was written incorrectly that scribe was put to death and another took his place just as with every monk/scribe put in charge of writing the "writen" word of God.... so you must understand how seriously there jobs were to be taken, copying the the bible page after page years after years... it was a matter of life and death...amd these men were better than us...
The bible gives explination for the creation of the heavens above and below us.. there was nothing.... then God created something by his own words..(Kinda sounds a little like what science be say'n bout the big bang) and when land and water were seperated. When light was devided by dark or if you will... day and night..
It tells us how we came to be and given dominion over the earth, plants animals and sea life...... it also gives reference to other pantheons that were worshiped as gods and godesses and gives references to most of what we know of othere religions..... there ways and blood sacrifices and such... and so on. God says "there shall be no other gods before me"
Hinduism seems to be one oldests religions which can be traced to the hittites...which were ordered seposidly by god for every man woman and child and animal of there kind to wiped out in battled but they did not kill the childern as ordered... the Sumarians were the first civilition of writen word and the first signs of "thinking man" which was in the near east were the explosion of life that began when all other traces of the Neanderthals and other evolutionary type simbients died out.... so take this as you will... translation is always a tricky thing... but you want facts? Heres one that comes to mind.... there are i believe "486" (or close to that number) words in the bible that could not be translated to english for no other reason then there were no words to translate it to.. but aside from those few words that could not be translated it is "word for word" translated from the original writen word...Gods expresion of life to man........now of course man will always manipulate or by his own ignorance, pervert the meaning of Gods will, church or faith as we see so often..so again everything in life my friends is faith based and we live and die by what we believe in...
If you want to know what truth is, then go out and find truth... you"ll know how to research bodybuilding and how the many compounds work for your body?

Sharpen the body and sharpen the mind..

We have no proof of gravity or how it even works. People believe what they’re told - that the earth is spinning super fast on its axis and that causes gravity. Uh, ok... why don’t the pictures from space capture this spin? Even better - this world, so perfect for life that no other planet has, just randomly happened and everything was set into motion? It takes more faith to believe in the theory of evolution and the Big Bang than it does to believe an intelligent designer created all of this.

I do not disagree with you at all.. my faith is simple i believe in God the father, the Son and holy spirit....and i believe it is the wisdom of God that tells me i really know very little... i just read alot of interesting theorys when i was much younger.. i find it all so interesting...

When I first gave my life to Christ, I read the NT 150 times and the OT 10. That only grew over the next few years. I thought I knew everything. 28 years later, I realize I know so little and can only agree with Paul: the only thing I know is Christ and him crucified.

Amen brother.
My life got totally turned upside down March of 2016 and was in ruins for the next 2 years. Along the way, I lost a lot of faith but I realized how much stood between me and the Lord. Even though I feel like Jacob who walked the rest of his life with a limp, I know that it took my world collapsing to bring me to a place where my faith was solidified. I have some stories that would make even some believers think I relapsed and went back on LSD lol.

I thought gravity was from mass bending space? The bigger the planet, the stronger the gravity. Like stretching rubber(space) over the mouth of a jar then putting a marble in the middle. Things are drawn to the center(marble). The bigger the marble the greater the pull.

Well, sometimes things are thrown our way that test us but I'm glad you made it through and it sounds like it made you all the stronger in your faith.

I find visions and things of that nature very interesting. God has never spoken to me in that manner, but I definitely know he did it in the Bible and I'm never one to discount any of that.

This is true, HOWEVER you can simulate gravity in space and get the same effect by something spinning. A centrifugal force creates a force just like gravity.
