Insulin Does Not Increase Muscle Protein Synthesis Rate

its a US based and from previous posts i wrote who knows ago its a high ranked school. i was blessed to recieve a scholarship based on my performance in undergrad

No, I'm not in a DO school. I'm in a MD school. In the U.S... I'd honestly never trust a doctor that went the DO path simply because that's the "Oh I didn't really get into med school, but I still want to be a doctor". Not to discredit them, they are real doctors. They can do everything a MD can and are an integral part in our healthcare system. They provide care to everyone and often have more intimate patient relations, but are usually simply "doctors for the masses" instead of the doctors that run the hospital.

I'm just an elitist prick so I look down on those who couldn't get an MD.

understood to be fair tho i know plenty of smart DO but youre right about majority not making it in to MD.

Yea I edited my post to make it seem a bit more nice to DO's lol. They're doctors for the masses and hey, it keeps the petty cases away from the higher ups.

haha Jim how about this once I get my MD ill swap infos with you lol and we can have a cup of coffee over it.

I don't know why you so protective of such nonspecific demographic info which helps define you as a member, poster and also aids members to better understand what your potential strengths and/or weakness may be.

I've posted this very info myself but elected to exclude more specific data or anything that would enable those few mentally deranged Dr Jim fan club members from visiting my office, home or sending me love letters :)

Well then I don't know what that comment is based upon either.

He asked if I was in school to become a DO. I said no I'm becoming a real doctor (MD) and I'm elitist and look down upon DO's. Then said that DO's are still real doctors, but are mainly the ones that weren't smart enough or didn't do well enough academically to become a MD... which is why i look down on them

Hi guys,

Nice to see so much interest in our work!

Some good discussion going on. Unfortunately, bodybuilding-like use of insulin is not really being studied (and unlikely to happen because it has no societal relevance...).

Just wanted to add something about muscle protein breakdown. Insulin inhibits MPB, but not much insulin is needed for that. In fact, 30 grams of protein is enough to get the maximal effect. Perhaps the same thing might apply as with MPS, where supraphysiological doses might do something.

Yea well that's why he is on my ignore list you know.

Shit I look down on those with less than 1000 posts. One must first demonstrate they possess enough brain power to walk and chew gum at the same time you know.

Really I went to Baylor for med school, UT for residency and Stanford for my fellowship.

Now everyone knows private Medical schools only accept the best and the brightest which is why I "look down" on those who didn't gain entrance to one, and even more so if they didn't graduate number one in their class!

What a conceited PRICK you are but that became apparent after only your FOURTH post ZIPPO zoot.

Yup, post count equals intelligence. Oh please, I've been around these forums for years. My first account wasn't on this website and I saw no reason to ever create an account for the past 4 years. If you want you can go look me up on other sites and see I joined early 2012/late 2011 if that pleases your internet ego.

You are so smart that you attack the man instead of his argument. You are so smart that you can't even fight against my argument, you simply resort to attacking me because this account is new. Good job. You definitely won this debate. You used 0 articles, 0 science, and a bunch of attacks. I dub thee winner.

You said that there were no studies done and no evidence for supraphysiological levels. I proved you wrong. I've proven you wrong every step of the way.

You can call yourself a doctor all you want, but you're far from one. You ignore science because of your own biased views. You haven't provided a single shred of evidence for anything you've claimed, while I have provided scientific evidence for everything I've said. Please, stop stroking your ego.

You have also made no real argument in any of your posts and instead choose to ramble on incoherently about random pancreas ideas that you have. I've made my stance. Insulin can induce anabolism. It's a simple fact.

What's your argument? That a pancrease produces insulin? No shit. Insulin supplementation isn't necessary? No shit. Nothing is necessary.

Does that mean that because it's not necessary that it isn't helpful? No. Science has proved it time and time again that it can be beneficial if done properly. If it isn't done properly then there are sever consequences, and nobody here is denying that.

Get the test out of your head and stop raging for 5 minutes. That may be long enough for you to read one scientific journal.

It's not the first time "dr" jim has done this. The masses without a background in science blindly trust jimmy, but when he is confronted with someone who can actually read through scientific studies and do some research, and provide counter-arguments...suddenly he starts attacking you and not your arguments.

jim, you had my respect when i first came here because of your reputation and you are well-versed in some aspects of science, but your habit of reverting to shouting and name calling only weakens all your arguments.

Just browsing through the forums and I happened on this. A question please. Is this a tongue in cheek response? or do you really have this opinion of yourself?
