Insulin Does Not Increase Muscle Protein Synthesis Rate

Here is the article I mentioned. NOTE the title heading EXTREME HYPERINSULINEMIA ........... that's VERY important bc the insulin levels necessary to demonstrate an "anabolic" benefit were at least ONE THOUSAND fold greater (range 7000 to 12,000 uIU/ml) than "normal fasting insulin levels" of less than 5 uIU/ml!
I remember reading an article by Bryan Haycock on this a long time ago. How much insulin would it require to reach that range?

I wouldn't be surprised if some bodybuilders hooked themselves up to an iv and did that considering some of the huge guts they had.

Yep and thank God the majority of them would admit they are not qualified to judge whether research of this nature is "flawed" bc they "achieved benefits" from insulin;................................ while using GH at 5-10 IU/day, a three stack high dose AAS cycle consisting of TT, Tren and D-Bol, consuming 100 grams of protein/day and HCG three times a week .....................,.................. heck anyone with half a brain knows those drugs would not disguise the "beneficial effects of insulin" !

LMAO!

that is Dr. Huckingfuge to you. your study had 14 damn people in it, for one that makes it a fucking joke. they shot insulin into a forearm and expected isolation growth WTF! REALLY! 1000 over base line, I'm sure that was a play on words, cause they are not going to get insulin up that high. if you lesser Dr. want to believe in this study by all means go for it, but it was lame ass study.

There are various formulas to determine the amount of insulin needed for the management of DKA patients in medicine but these folks did have hyperglycemia so a basal infusion can be used which is ONE unit per hour which should achieve an insulin level of around 2-3 uIU/ml.

Knowing that, the rest is EASY.
The levels achieved in this study approximate the dose required for insulin to enhance PS, MORE THAN 500-1000 UNITS PER HOUR!

ANY TAKERS!!!

Good God I hope not!

When a research trial is performed to show the benefits of using insulin while on GH and TRT, sign me up. Hell, ill be happy to be in the placebo group!

Sorry AR your running a little late mate bc the studies on GH/IGF have already been conducted. They revealed the ability of GH/IGF to enhance PS, is an insulin dependent pathway.

That does NOT mean insulin suup is necessarily benefical while using GH, but that insulin is REQUIRED to optimize PS in the presence of GH

I've not seen a study on the combined effects of Insulin and TT on PS.

2-3iu would only utilize 20 to 30 carbs. I didn't get how much protein they added. your body does that amount on its own. so no real reason to run such a low dose of insulin and expect anything great from that dose.
