Joints/Tendons/Bone

DJ Dr Jim quick question bro. What is the other way collogen grows and strenghens in young people? Another thing what does increase strength and elasticity as well as cellmass in tendonds and ligaments such as those in rotator cuff and the ones that supports throwing motion.

When my ankle and knee was recovering from accident in jan 2010 i was watching nfl playoffs and favre was having one of his best yrs at 41. That was unheard of in the past qb careers. I knew it didnt have much to do with aas. But i was thinking maybe gh,peptides or igf1? I also figured with the modern peds and healing drugs that the extension of a qbs armstrength And throwing ability lasting into their 40"s could be the new normal. That Favre isn't a freak and other qbs could follow suit. And Brady Manning seem to be doing the same with Brees not far behind. Qbs were a shell of themself at 34-35 in the past. So what exactly helps tendonds and ligaments strength, elasticity and mass? Thanx

Look on Google for the answer. PS nothing personal but you have seven posts on Meso and your calling me "bro", NOT!

Sorry just old habit coming back. On my old boards, now extinct we always called each other that. Old habits are just instinct. I"ll keep it in mind though. I asked you because you seemed most open minded bout this subject. And this subject has intrigued me. I have read the studies but kinna get the feeling not enough have been done yet to be conclusive. But i could be wrong.

Yeah I was watching that go down, I mean scally kinda had a point.
Jim can be a prick for no reason at times.
I will give him credit though for coming hard at scamming fucks in the UGL section.

I always thought they had very specific roles... jim was a beast in the underground and scally was the nice guy in men's health?

I did notice a significant improvement in my shoulder injury when I was using Thymosin 500 at 5 mg weekly and Deca 250 from Geneza at 500 mg a week. I noticed that the Thymosin I got from Naps seemed to work better, Maybe it was their shipping method, but i have used extreme peptides and i did not feel it as much. Price was WAY cheaper at Naps too. Where the hell does Phil Hernon get the nerve to charge his prices for chinese made stuff?

Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. Tendon response to pharmaco-mechanical stimulation of the chronically retracted rotator cuff in sheep - Online First - Springer

PURPOSE: Chronic tearing of tendons is associated with molecular and structural alterations causing biomechanical changes, which compromise musculotendinous function and become limiting factors for tendon repair. This study investigated the histological response of chronically retracted sheep rotator cuff tendons to mechanical and pharmacological stimulation in view of tendon repair.

METHODS: Sixteen weeks after experimental release of the infraspinatus tendon in 20 sheep, the retracted musculotendinous unit was subjected to continuous traction either with [anabolic steroids (nandrolone) group/insulin-like growth factor (IGF) group] or without (control group) additional pharmacological treatment during 6 weeks.

A new degeneration score for tendinous tissues (DSTT), based on established knowledge on histological changes associated with tendon degeneration, was used for histological analysis at the time of tendon release, at the beginning of continuous re-lengthening and at repair in all animals.

RESULTS: The DSTT score (inter-observer correlation: r = 0.83), quantifiably representing tendon degeneration, improved from 15.5 (SD 1.3) points before to 9.8 (SD 3.8) points after re-lengthening. It improved in a qualitatively and quantitatively similar fashion if pharmacological stimulation was added. The nandrolone group improved from 13.7 (SD 1.6) to 9.8 (SD 1.9) and the IGF group from 13.3 (SD 3.6) to 8.8 (SD 1.8) points.

CONCLUSION: Mechanical stimulation significantly reduced tissue degeneration. However, the addition of a pharmacological stimulation with anabolic steroids or IGF had neither a measurable positive nor negative effect on the degenerative process. Therefore, this investigation does neither support the additional pharmacological use of the anabolic steroid nandrolone or of IGF decanoate for restoration of tendon degeneration, nor otherwise provide evidence for additional tendon damage, if those substances are used to alter the muscular metabolism.

Tsitsilonis S, Panayiotis CE, Athanasios MS, et al. Anabolic androgenic steroids reverse the beneficial effect of exercise on tendon biomechanics: An experimental study. Foot Ankle Surg 2014;20(2):94-9. Anabolic androgenic steroids reverse the beneficial effect of exercise on tendon biomechanics: An experimental study

BACKGROUND: The effect of anabolic androgenic steroids on tendons has not yet been fully elucidated. Aim of the present study was the evaluation of the impact of anabolic androgenic steroids on the biomechanical and histological characteristics of Achilles tendons.

METHODS: Twenty-four male Wistar rats were randomized into four groups with exercise and anabolic steroids (nandrolone decanoate) serving as variables. Protocol duration was 12 weeks. Following euthanasia, tendons' biomechanical properties were tested with the use of a modified clamping configuration. Histological examination with light and electron microscopy were also performed.

RESULTS: In the group of anabolic steroids and exercise the lowest fracture stress values were observed, while in the exercise group the highest ones. Histological examination by light and electron microscopy revealed areas of collagen dysplasia and an increased epitendon in the groups receiving anabolic steroids and exercise.

CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that anabolic androgenic steroids reverse the beneficial effect of exercise, thus resulting in inferior maximal stress values.

[Rats] Lactate Dehydrogenase Regulation in Aged Skeletal Muscle: Regulation by Anabolic Steroids and Functional Overload

Highlights
• Aging is associated with decreased metabolic capacity
• OV and ND administration induced a differential LDH response in plantaris muscle from aged compared to young rats
• Plantaris muscle from young rats decreased glycolytic capacity in response to ND and OV treatments.
• Plantaris muscle from aged rats increased glycolytic capacity in response to ND and OV treatments.

Washington TA, Healey JM, Thompson RW, Lowe LL, Carson JA. Lactate Dehydrogenase Regulation in Aged Skeletal Muscle: Regulation by Anabolic Steroids and Functional Overload. Experimental Gerontology. Lactate Dehydrogenase Regulation in Aged Skeletal Muscle: Regulation by Anabolic Steroids and Functional Overload

Aging alters the skeletal muscle response to overload-induced growth. The onset of functional overload is characterized by increased myoblast proliferation and an altered muscle metabolic profile. The onset of functional overload is associated with increased energy demands that are met through the interconversion of lactate and pyruvate via the activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH).

Testosterone targets many of the processes activated at the onset of functional overload. However, the effect of aging on this metabolic plasticity at the onset of functional overload and how anabolic steroid administration modulates this response is not well understood.

The purpose of this study was to determine if aging would alter overload-induced LDH activity and expression at the onset of functional overload and whether anabolic steroid administration would modulate this response.

Five-month and 25-month Male Fisher 344 × F1 BRN were given nandrolone decanoate (ND) or sham injections for 14 days and then the plantaris was functionally overloaded (OV) for 3 days by synergist ablation.

Aging reduced muscle LDH-A & LDH-B activity 70% (p < 0.05). Aging also reduced LDH-A mRNA abundance, however there was no age effect on LDH-B mRNA abundance. In 5-m muscle, both ND and OV decreased LDH-A and LDH-B activity. However, there was no synergistic or additive effect. In 5-m muscle, ND and OV decreased LDH-A mRNA expression with no change in LDH-B expression.

In 25-m muscle, ND and OV increased LDH-A and LDH-B activity. LDH-A mRNA expression was not altered by ND or OV in aged muscle. However, there was a main effect of OV to decrease LDH-B mRNA expression. There was also an age-induced LDH isoform shift. ND and OV treatment increased the “fast” LDH isoforms in aged muscle, whereas ND and OV increased the “slow” isoforms in young muscle.

Our study provides evidence that aging alters aspects of skeletal muscle metabolic plasticity normally induced by overload and anabolic steroid administration.

I tore my forearm tendon (tennis elbow) so badly that I couldn't grip at all. It was probably from running test C by itself and adding in Superdrol. In January I added Boldenone at 300mg/wk. Bold is superior to Deca for repair of connective tissue. I just increased to 450mg/wk of boldenone and tennis elbow is non-existant. Now I'm getting strength back while adding quality lean muscle. I highly recommend Bold to anyone suffering from joint issues.
