Male Bodybuilders (who deserve attention)

You can see it above arnold is 6'2 and ferrigno is 6'6. Ferrigno competed young at the olympia about 270 ish. Wow. And he was just a baby then

Well I was referring to more than Height. Since you are tall yourself you know just how hard it is to fill up the frame. So what caught my attention about the picture was how Lou was so much bigger in mass than Arnold considering the height addition. At least referring to the picture I saw.

Taller guys will always have the more athletic look even if they are near 300.
Examples: arnold, ferrigno, james hellwig all tall dudes . I wanna model that physique

Short guys (under 5'10) get the benefit of looking stout and more full. Even if they have less mass.
examples: Columbu, priest and most every other bodybuilder

short guys have more mass for their height. tall guys can't get enough mass. that is why Arnold was the only guy over 6' to win Mr. O. when you get a tall guy come in over 320 to 340 lbs lean than you will have another tall Mr. O.

Nah its all a mirage if ferrigno would of stood in front of say cutler or coleman he would disappear height and width wise. Being tall is not just vertical height is also larger bones and frame. Imagine standing next to the rock and how little you would feel. Just sayin

But for bodybuilding, strictly bodybuilding I believe you are correct Huck

Lee Priest next to Coleman.

Coleman was 260 here, Priest 220, Coleman 5'9" Priest 5'4", from a mass perspective he is nearly as large as Coleman (his biceps, legs, calves, and traps look on par, but his chest, well upper pec, lower pec seems to have the same mass, lats, triceps and delts look smaller). Priest if he weighed 260, would without a doubt lose a lot of his symmetry, but he does have the appearance of "more massive" with less weight due to his height.

Thats precisely my point, "appears". Now I say to you sir next to a WSM competitor like say....Brian Shaw how would coleman look?

Here you go! Here is one of Shaw and Heath, and one of Shaw and Coleman. The only thing that really stands out is Shaw's height, looking at forearms and biceps, they look to be nearly on par with each other in terms of size.

Excessive height really is a disadvantage from a bodybuilding point of view. I'm just 5'7 and I'm sure people who are dramatically taller might appear 'bigger' when I'm say for example standing in line at the grocery store even if they're physique is not as developed as mine, but it really doesn't matter, the goal should be to look big from lots of lbm and good proportions and symmetry rather than from frame/height.

Shaw looks like an ogre standing next to heath.

Paul white is a huge fuckin dude. I met him in person. A TRULY big guy

Personally this has always been my favorite physique

You know its a give and take here.

When was the last time somebody under 5'10 REALLY COMPETED in a WSM contest? Let alone win it.

How about the nfl. Ever heard of a player at a strength position being under 5'10? Doesn't exist. There's a reason why a linebacker at 6'2 265 would thrash a more bulldoggish 5'9 265. Even tho the shorter guy has a stouter frame he would be out classed in leverage and USABLE strength. In body building its another story. I doubt we will ever see some body be ripped and jacked 6'4 330. I dont even think its possible
