Male Bodybuilders (who deserve attention)

It's possible, because if BB'ing has proved anything, is that extreme mass with moderate amounts of cutting are possible. Sure, the 6'4 330 won't look as defined as Frank Zane in his prime, but his physique would be impressive to say the least.

You know its a give and take here.

When was the last time somebody under 5'10 REALLY COMPETED in a WSM contest? Let alone win it.

How about the nfl. Ever heard of a player at a strength position being under 5'10? Doesn't exist. There's a reason why a linebacker at 6'2 265 would thrash a more bulldoggish 5'9 265. Even tho the shorter guy has a stouter frame he would be out classed in leverage and USABLE strength. In body building its another story. I doubt we will ever see some body be ripped and jacked 6'4 330. I dont even think its possible
Nah its all a mirage if ferrigno would of stood in front of say cutler or coleman he would disappear height and width wise. Being tall is not just vertical height is also larger bones and frame. Imagine standing next to the rock and how little you would feel. Just sayin

But for bodybuilding, strictly bodybuilding I believe you are correct Huck

Ferrigno did compete against both Coleman and Cutler. he also competed against Yates too. the best Ferrigno ever look was when he jumped ship and went to the defunct WBB. Ferrigno came in at 320lbs if I'm not mistaken. Gary Strydom won the title before it went belly up.

they came into the game at the wrong time. Dorian showed up when Levrone was in line to win. Haney shouldn't of won as many times as he did, but I think all of Dorians was legit. Gaspari beat Haney a time or two.

I wouldn't say better, cause he would of won if he had better or came in 2nd every time. I like Levrone and it would of been nice for him to win one.

I think most people's face lean out first, I think almost all my family members do.

Guess I'm the opposite for me it's the second go to last place I lean out, last place to lean out is my love handle region. My glutes even lean out before those areas which I know tends to be everybodies last place to lose.

Yates really didn't have genetics when you compare him to Levrone or Flex. He just out works them. Levrone just had the rotten luck of going against one of the hardest working people in the game. Levrone had the habit of not always coming in consistent either.

Shawn Ray always came in well and had great symmetry sure he was short but I think he should have won one.

Yates did have genetics, or he wouldn't of been able to get that large. Period. True his genetics might not be as great as Phil Heath or Levrone, but he was still a freak and would be competitive (very) in today's Olympia scene.

Of course Yates had genetics everybody on that stages has genetics. He didn't have the better genetics then many of the people who he competed against during that time period. Hell I would say the 2-5 during his reign all had better genetics than him. He basically showed how you can out work people that are slightly more gifted.

I would say his genetics are better than 80% of those who he competed against, or else anyone could of decided to try harder and beat him, that just wasn't the case. I would venture to say, that probably during his time, maybe only 3 people had better genetics than him. You can see he is very gifted in his back and legs, sure his biceps could use a better peak, and his chest didn't look nearly as large as his back, but the man was a beast.

Yates said himself he had plenty of competition that were more genetically gifted. I believe he also said if they only had my brain imagine what they could of accomplished

Yates only said that about the top tier and his first US show (the only time he doubted himself), beyond that, he felt he was better than almost all of his competition.

I mean anyway you slice it, he is probably in everyone's top 5 of all time, I know his work ethic was second to none, but you don't get to be one of the greatest of all time without having superior genetics. His genetics would put 98% of the regular populations to shame...

Didn't know Bolo Yeungs kid competed this was back in 2003. He didn't stick with it ,now he goes more to the slender look these days and looks much different
