SEATAC, Wash. — Seven years after Washington legalized the adult use of marijuana, Gov. Jay Inslee says he plans to pardon thousands of convictions for misdemeanor pot possession.

The Democrat, who is mulling a 2020 presidential run, made the announcement Friday at a cannabis industry summit. Inslee said he was creating an expedited process that would allow about 3,500 people to apply for and receive a pardon without having to hire a lawyer or go to court.

Several states allow for expunging or sealing marijuana convictions, and several cities have taken steps to clear marijuana possession convictions en masse. One new law in California automatically erases or reduces marijuana-related convictions.

Inslee called it an injustice that small-time convictions have hampered people's ability to buy a house, get a job or chaperone field trips.
 


Cannabis has downsides, but speculation and fear should be replaced with the best evidence available.

Are we underestimating the harms of legalizing marijuana?

Those who hold this view have been in the news recently, saying that research shows we are moving too far too fast without understanding the damage.

America is in the midst of a sea change in policies on pot, and we should all be a bit nervous about unintended consequences.

Vigilance is required. But it should be reasoned and thoughtful. To tackle recent claims, we should use the best methods and evidence as a starting point.

We should be clear about what we’re talking about here, though. Adults will make decisions on how to use it just as they do with similar products like alcohol and tobacco. Both are more dangerous than marijuana, and it’s not even close.

Anecdotes can make compelling cases, but they don’t necessarily lead to thoughtful outcomes.
 
For those of us in states where cannabis is not legal Cannasense is an option. I'd guess most people who want to use marijuana already have someone they are comfortable with buying from who can consistently get what they want. I'd also guess those people may find Cannasense prices way too high but really have no idea what people expect to pay. For me it's not too different from the one source I found and was comfortable buying from. For those like myself who don't mind paying extra for the convenience and selection Cannasense can be a nice alternative. I like knowing what I am getting exactly and having options and so far so good for me. Have you actually received from them? I dont like how they give you the membership cost but I dont see how much items will cost after that.

Yes I have. The discount will vary per product. I can give you any specifics. For example 1/4oz flower is $130 normally and $90 for full member. Best discount is on the flower it seems to me from what I have compared so far. The other discounts are not as good for edibles, vape cartridges, etc.
