My Dr. Crisler Experience

Dr some times have to cut loose people who appear to be "Dr Shopping". To get well is one thing, but say I have been to "Dr X hes one of the best TRT drs and he could not help me" is just feeding their illness giving them justification and excuses for their actions.

I was cut loose because I contested his charges on my CC for services not rendered. It is a simple as that. I recieved my patient dismissal letter exactly 30 days after I filed my complaint with Discover, which happens to coincide precisley with the CC companies window of investigation.

The irony in all of this is I was initially quite distraught over the breakdown with Dr. Crisler as I mistakenly thought he would be a fantastic HRT physician and I would have a difficult time finding someone to help me with my problems. I had an untreated T level of less than 200 and let me tell you I was in bad shape. I read all the horror stories from other folks on these forums having trouble finding a good Dr. so I was dreading the process of securing somebody else. So I swallowed my pride and appealed to his sense of reason and fairness. I have posted his response. Luckily I did find somebody and things are improving. You know I was moving on, prepared to let bygones be bygones and then I got that arrogant dismissal letter and I thought to hell with it. This guy is in the wrong and I am not just going to sit back and take it.
 
I don’t think Dr. Crisler is referring to me in this posting. As my last post indicates, I am no longer a patient with him as I have been dismissed. I most assuredly have not requested additional prescripts, and I am not using HGC. If he is referring to me then his depth of dishonesty has no bounds.

I will comment on his post in general however. He is an interesting study on narcissistic personality disorder.

His shitty service cannot be found anywhere in the world…just ask him. You can’t make this stuff up and why bother…he does it for you.


Renee has faxed that script 6 (!) times. She has even talked to the Pharmacy, who refused to take a verbal order, but told her to "fax it again right now".

Also his claims of trying to get this patient’s prescripts filled do not match my experience at all. I have the emails to prove it. Renee refused to fax the prescript to me so I could take it to the pharmacy myself and she refused to call the pharmacy directly, at their request I might add, when they repeatedly did not get the fax. She did eventually tell me she was done with it and would no longer try to get the prescript filled. If I wanted it filled then I would have to resubmit a new request for a new fee and pick another pharmacy. As I was more or less at her mercy at that point that is what I did and that prescript was filled. But I refused payment on the first prescript request because they never delivered on the service which had been pre-paid for on my CC. They also never performed on the T prescription which as I have stated was ordered from their recommended pharmacy. I only requested that pharmacy at Crisler’s recommendation because he said their current pharmacy Diplomat was screwing up their T compounding. How the hell would I know anything about a pharmacy in Las Vegas? Or diplomat for that matter. Here are the attached emails in all their glory. The only editing I have done is for personal information. Start at the bottom and work your way up. You can see my wife was always professional and courteous. Renee was not. My wife actually apologized at the end for Wal-Mart’s supposed inability to get the fax and you can see how Renee rudely screams her response all in CAPITAL letters at the end and informs my wife how important they are with all their 2000 patients. I guess you could say the Dr./patient relationship was beginning to get strained at this point. But there is more to the story; which I will get to later.

According to the e-mails Renee faxed the scripts on multiple occasions and they were received. Why were you not as upset with the people who lost the faxes as you were with Renee who did what you requested and faxed the script over and confirmed that it was indeed received at the other end.

One e-mail said "I am so sorry Renee, I just called the pharmacy and they have not received it. They said that the number you are faxing to is correct and that occasionally because of the different fax machines that the fax does not actually go through and the prescription needs to be called into the pharmacist directly. That's the fault of the pharmacy not Renee. When I or my wife have ever had to fax our script we would call and speak to the pharmacist and get their direct fax number, fax it and then call to confirm it was received.

It seems to me your anger is misplaced.

True words! All of this was coming out of my pocket and I ultimately exercised my free enterprise rights to take my money somewhere better. I figure he saw the writing on the wall and couldn’t resist sending me a smart ass patient dismissal letter. There’s that ego. You can see it in his correspondence and other responses. He believes it’s the patients responsibility to tolerate his lack of performance because he is so damn important, so sought out, the unequivocal expert in the filed with no peers treating people all over the world etc. etc. Shit its testosterone therapy…not quantum physics. I have read posts from members on these boards that are as knowledgeable as him and are really trying to help.

And there you have it…a lethal dose of incompetence, and arrogance.

Please read the correspondence carefully. My wife and I made repeated attempts to get this resolved and I am certain I had more time in it then Renee ever did. I was of course frustrated with Wal-Mart and was seeking a solution through Renee. I became upset when Renee screamed at my wife that she wasn’t going to do anything more. She was unprofessional and rude. My wife and I never were anything but pleasant and professional. Why couldn’t she just pick up the damn phone and call the prescription in like Wal-Mart asked her to do because the fax apparently wasn’t working. By the way this wasn’t the first time Renee had been unprofessional with me. Of course…. Renee could submit to another pharmacy just as soon as I let them charge my CC another $15.00. Look…Renee is busy…I get that…..SO AM I…just pick up the damn phone and call them and get off the power trip of putting patients in their place. It is called customer service. AND….as I have said repeatedly…they never fulfilled my T prescription and just left me hanging as I went into shutdown. The culture of that office and the ego of that Dr. is undoubtedly mirrored in his staff’s behavior.

Again do not take offense, I was just pointing out an example why the Dr's I work with let people go. A hard lesson I learned in the past "we need to choice our battles and choice them wisely". I have heard stories from other Drs who are also vulnerable through the web due to social networking which could damage their reputation tremendously. I just let it go in one ear and out the other. Just a matter of time before people self destruct. This applies to every one. I was guilty of this till I changed my ways. I am willing to admit I was going down a self destructive pathway when I was younger. Its just the nature of the beast blinding you until reality sets in. Most of the time the damage has been done and its too late. Others are more fortunate.

And why would I waste my time blasting someone without a motive? The motive being I want others to know what to expect, I actually think its kind of cool now to hear other similar stories cause to be honest I thought maybe I just pissed off Renee and by doing so she was going to make sure I suffered. Perhaps I sent her one too many emails or something who knows and who cares, point is she is unprofessional. And if you want proof I was a patient just ask for something, perhaps a photo of the top of my labs from him??

I had the same thought about Renee as you when I got the first of several rude responses. Did I somehow offend her? I couldn’t imagine how. Eventually I have come to realize that she has as big of a personality disorder as the Dr. and I am certain is parroting his condescending, egotistical, good luck finding care somewhere else, patient philosophy throughout his practice. I would never tolerate one of my employees behaving that way. I also suspect that she spends a good amount of time covering up her screw ups. You know the best defense is offense. I know for certain she failed to inform me about my initial lab work request. She also may have very well failed to order the right labs and that’s why I had no thyroid results in my first blood work. With her and her son Ryan covering for each other maybe Crisler has no real idea what going on. That is why I reached out to him on his Facebook account. Unfortunately he decided to dismiss me and I decided to move on.

actually you couldn't be more wrong, I have no affiliation with him whatsoever and actually work in the TRT field. I just see this crap people pull everyday and they have no idea the implications it has on a business and its just not right to do just because you had a bad experience or because you " didn't like his office" or because " they were not nice to you" pull up your panties already and move on. Its not like he is out there dangerously prescribing meds to people who don't need them, it was simply a service that you felt was sub par, a service that you didn't even follow through with cause he did not kiss your ass. A service that you don't even understand.

I know guys like you cause I deal with them, I understand that you were excited to fix your pecker and get your life back on track, but things take time, especially if your following the proper procedures and not violating HIPPA.

If you want to fill out a medical history and tell someone what you want then there are plenty of places out there for you to go, most don't even require a blood test since it is not mandatory to have one to prescribe testosterone..................

Maybe you didn't know this but girls in the office that handle paper work, wether for a Dr or a car dealer always have an attitude, its not there job to stroke your johnson, there job is simply to make sure things get done the right way..............

You only need to browse his forum with all his "bro" and "LOL" and "man cave" and "you are a person of low character" to see there's some pretty questionable shit going on.

How anyone puts their safety in his hands is beyond me.

I used to work for a bank and it was their policy to always treat customers with the utmost respect bc if someone is treated poorly they will tell their friends, family, and acquaintances and this impacts their bottom line and business.

I dont know about Crisler specifically but he is not some special flower or scare resource. There are literally hundreds of doctors in North American who are more than capable of administering TRT and conducting labs to oversee that treatment.

This boils down to a "buyer beware." Crisler's entire reputation was built through buzz marketing via the internet. The myth that "endo's suck" is perpetuated on "bro science" forums all over the internet. If you goto any message board on the internet you will see "endo's suck. go see Crisler" but it will be from the same handful of posters. Also, these guys who say "endo's suck" are often guys who don't need TRT but want it and won't get it prescribed. So they get pissed off and think endo's suck.

End of the day your experience will help other people decide if they want to see Crisler or not. Some will still ultimately see him (maybe they have low self-esteem, or maybe they have no other options) but some people will read your account and realize they have options and they don't HAVE to goto this egomaniac in Michigan who claims to be the only TRT option in town.

Most endos do suck, wether you think Chrisler started this or not the bottom-line is most of them are worthless, you don't even live in the US so I wouldn't expect you to have a clue about it.

I agree that people have options, but to say there are 100's of doctors capable is def not a true statement. There wouldn't be a million stories of guys going to their endo and getting a TT value of 315 and being told that is completely normal. It happens EVERY SINGLE DAY.

So maybe guys don't like Chrisler, thats not my point, point is just because you don't agree with someone and how they handle their business does not mean you start a smear campaign on them.

Like you said, just take your money elsewhere............... why the need to smear someone cause YOU don't think they are a good TRT doc?

He dismissed him, whats the big deal? they didn't get along........... no one can make everyone happy.

I agree. Why aren't you bitching at/about Wal-Mart?

I can tell you that I have had problems with Express-Scripts (now part of MEDCO) and the Walgreen's mail pharmacy in Florida. They both suck. They have both lost my scripts, not filled scripts as written and delayed my medications without notifying me. But I certainly don't blame Dr. Crisler's office for those problems.
 
I am a former patient of Crislers too. I can say that he helped me get control of my hormone issues, and for that he should be appreciated. But as a Dr he is very unprofessional. Seeing some of the things he is saying about his patients regarding them being emotionally challenged is just unprofessional. Someone that has proof of his behavior should really look at filing a complaiant with LARA in Michigan, the better business bureau, as well as likely file a defamation suit with everything he has posted. It is amazing that he is able to maintain a business if much of what is being reported on here is true. I personally left the practice due to financial reasons and had never really had issues. While I admit the staff was not very personable, I was not going there to make friends.
