Odie's First Log

That's a jersey mikes?

I'm on the prowl

If your referring to my sub, no thats not a Jersey Mikes. It's from Lenny's Subs. Ive been to a few different ones in TX and the one by me is the best Ive had so far. I walk in and they know exactly what I want and how I want it made. The little spanish girls in there call me John Claude van Damme.lol

If you eat one ask for their special spicy relish sauce

Shit just Googled it lennys is down town and I definitely ain't going there and another one just before the ok border. Fuck meh

Well after doing a bunch of research I believe I found my gym mats.
http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/rb-rubber-multi-mat-rolled-rubber-3-8-in-thick-sold-by-the-foot

They are less then 8 bucks and come 4'x1' sections and they are 3/8 thick. For that price I could do half my garage and double them. Anyway I wanted to share this with y'all because if you google " fitness gym mats or equipment mats" for the same size piece and the same thickness it will cost you around 150.00-200.00

Edit: Now I just need to find a place that will cut me a mirror for one of my garage walls. Maybe 6.5'x8' I'm thinking

Getting really excited about upgrading the home gym. Im gonna take 2 a days to a whole new level once I get it all set up

Nice find on the mats maybe you can get a good deal on the mirror glass too. A mirror is a must for you to admire your gains ;)

I instantly pictured OGH running in there and scolding them for calling you the wrong John
Now the more reason for convincing OGH to go move to Texas haha.

You can get an 8x12 mirror from a glass company for less than a few hundred bucks. Probably around 250

Blah blah blah. Getting sick of eating the same shit. Also since I became single my creativity in the kitchen has flown the coop. On the plus side between all the fish I'm consuming and the fish oil pills Im taking my joints feel pretty good.

Consistency is the foundation of any program.... and that diet of the same old shit is your brick and mortar bro ;)

So I have set a date for the last day of this cycle. It will be July 1st. I go on vacation July 2nd for 9 days and the town Im going to doesn't even have a gym so Im just gonna call it quits. That will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 8-9 weeks for this run, I'll have to go back and check. With this being said I'm gonna get really serious with FST-7 from here on out. I've been slacking and pretty much just been going for strength lately. From now on I will start out with a weight thats pretty close to my max for 1-2 reps and then drop it down to get my 6-12 paused/slow TUT reps for the remainder.

Good plan Odie and best of luck on this. A vacation is what you really need to get recharged and ready to go once you return.

Nice find on the mats. You making a platform for deads and shit with them or for the entire area? My suggestion is leave the mirror out of the gym. All mirrors do is make you lose focus of what you're doing while training. Just spend that $$ on a mirror for the ceiling of your bedroom so When you're done with a workout And pounding out the next chick you have the best view in the house :)

I actually decided Im gonna go down and get theses today. They are from the same place but they are 3/4" and come 4' x 6' sections. In the pictures of them people actually buy them for their home gyms.

For now I will be doing deads in the squat rack. lol Hey its my house and I can do whatever I want. I will curl in the squat rack and no one can say shit. Eventually I will have a old school style gym. Just free weights besides the bow flex which I may get rid of and get me a Cable Crossover machine, but damn there expensive.

You don't like mirrors while training? It allows me to stay in good form and when I see those veins poppin I can usually get an extra rep or 2

You can find surplus gym equipment on CL and ebay or you might even snag some stuff from a gym that's getting rid of old equipment. You could then have a badass old-school setup for a reasonable outlay. Soon you'll have Meso-ites nearby coming over to train with you haha.

LOL @ curling in the squat rack though, but hey its your gym your rules :D

Yea ppl use those mats all the time bc like you found out, the yoga mat shit is crazy expensive. There are instructions online on how of make a good platform but it's simple. Just some plywood or particle board and those kind of mats, some nails and some glue and you're set.

I hate mirrors while training. They do nothing but distract. If I could get away with it I'd break every mirror my gym has except the one by where the gym bunnies do their cardio :) lol

Love these things! I'm in process of making my garage gym and I bought two of them to put on either side of my Oly platform...my parents have a tractor supply out by their house so I got them when I went over there...and they're cheap!
