@Type-IIx explains the benefits of GLP-1 and GIP agonists like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, as true insulin sensitizing agents. how they are different from other weight loss drugs, and the benefits as partitioning agents for bodybuilders.

I'm sure you've read a lot about Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro for overweight sedentary people in the mainstream media but if you want to read about the use of these drug from a bodybuilding perspective, read on:

I did a 6 week run of tirz only 10 mg in total and I was very impressed, I didn’t change my diet although it did get rid of the little voice that tells me to eat a chocolate bar after my evening meals. The main things I noticed were my bloating disappeared as I’m always pretty low body fat at 10-12% but always was a bit watery or protruding abs and that disappeared. I stopped after the 6 weeks and the bloat came back so I just started again but I’m going to try 2 mg every 5 or 6 days as last time I noticed last time that it worked great days 2-5 after a shot then didn’t notice anything days 6 and 7.

I tried it along with metformin but the 2 together didn’t feel the best.
I'm curious, did you lose weight over those 6 weeks? Or it was mainly an aesthetic difference?

I lost a considerable amount of fat and bloat without the scale really moving, I have been back on again about 3mg per week for past 4 weeks and fat loss has been more extreme with no real weight loss I have got a decent set of abs again, I don’t change my diet, it naturally makes me eat slightly less but maybe 5-800 calories a day less. Overall tirz just has so many benefits for me and I feel better on it without any sides.

I been taking trizepatide since October I steadily increased my dose to 7mg but now I been having trouble falling asleep. Has anyone experienced this ? What can I do in the meantime to start sleeping again? I'm lowering my dose back down to 5mg next week

Around four hours before sleep, eat something carbohydrate dense.

Thanks brother. My last meal is usually a protein source with a cup of rice but I read somewhere it can be resolved by eating some sugar because of low blood sugar? I avoid eating sugar

I noticed that the night before injecting, when I typically have pasta for dinner, I'd fall asleep effortlessly. Then I came across the advice that it's known to help with falling asleep.

The effect is more pronounced in those with greater insulin sensitivity, which Tirz provides of course, and the more muscle mass you have the stronger it is as well.

TLDR: The glucose spike results in an insulin induced uptake of long chain nucleic acids into the muscles. This causes an increased level of tryptophan in the blood, which is metabolized in the brain into serotonin and melatonin, pushing you into sleep faster.

So now you have a healthy reason to cheat a little.

That makes sense. Thank you again bro for your knowledge. I'll have to try a cup or so a few hours before bed. I'm still going to drop my dose to 5mg 7 is a bit much for me. I barely eat. Most days I can only eat 1100 to 1300 calories a day

A lot of men, especially, see no response until 7.5mg or even 10mg, You likely have a high enough level of endogenous GLP production (released when the intestines are stretched), so don't require much supplementing of the hormone to push the metabolic homeostasis needle down.

If you're able to increase the dose without pushing your weight too low in the future, there is a benefit. Most of the weight loss independent health benefits of GLP/GIP are more pronounced at higher doses. But ultimately, the greatest long term positive health effects come from simply finding your "maintenance dose" where you're stabilized at your ideal weight, feel no effects whatsoever from the dose, and stay on it long term.

I also feel more fatigued at 7mg but can't stay asleep. 5mg wasn't a issue

If you're waking very early, 3-5AM, it could the Somogyi effect. A surge of hormones in response to low blood sugar. The carb intake will help stabilize those levels overnight and potentially prevent that from happening. You may have to experiment as to when you eat those carbs for maximum benefit.

Dude I can't even sleep . Literally just eyes closed tossing and turning and it's amazing how time flys when you can't sleep

One problem at a time. See if you fall asleep with this strategy first.

I ended up using a very low dose of Zopiclone, 3.5mg (a "child" dose), to fall asleep, but would then wake up really early, carbs took care of both.

It's crazy. I even smoke a little weed 2 hrs or so before bed sometimes and take 400 mg of magnesium and .05 of xanix but still nothing but I'll try the more carbs tonight

I don't have the research reference at hand, but the problem with regular use of weed for sleep is that initially it helps, then as the brain becomes accustomed to it becomes necessary to achieve normal sleep, and finally, even with it sleep quality begins to degrade. The insidious part is that despite sleep eventually worsening with ongoing use, its absence causes sleep to worsen even more, leading many who try giving it up reverting to it in order to not suffer severe insomnia,

It takes several weeks for that severe insomnia effect to diminish and sleep to gradually improve when not using it.

This applies to cognition as well, and in long term users the absence of pot can cause a worsening of memory and processing, which explains why some of the stoners I know insist they felt dumber when not using.

Oh

Out of left field I know, but it's so counterintuitive, and something, in hindsight, I experienced, I figured I'd share it with you so you don't fall into that trap. There don't seem to be any "free rides" with long term use of sleep aids, pharma or "herbal", of any sort.

Yeah it's the worst because sleep is everything. Very important

I also just did my blood work and everything came back fine except high level of red blood cells and a little low on HDL and high estrogen but I just have to pull back a little in the test from 300 to 200 and that should be it
