Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Just quit my job, going to the DMV and to take care of business and get this going.

Dude wanna know what i was doing before i decided i needed to make a change? I was breaking down colonial stone walls and stacking them on to pallets to make money. Wrapping them in chicken wire and loading them on my 1 ton flat bed to bring to market. Yup, i was stacking fucking heavy ass rocks. Barbaric.

You will be fine. First day of the rest of your life. Some day you will look back and think fondly of this moment of insecurity and uncertainty

I seriously thought of this scene, lol.

Now there is no turning back. Good luck and here's to your success

Yep, this is happening.

I got my MVR, it's blank, so that's good. Went by the bank my stepdad set me up with and got my backup plan in place, which is a $5k credit card with 0% interest for twelve months, so if somehow none of the financial aid pans out i can still pay. Got my proof of income from my bank. Only thing left is transcripts. I went ahead and made an appointment with the financial aid people tomorrow counting on having the transcripts, so I'll be aggressively pursuing that today and tomorrow. FAFSA sent me an email saying I'm approved, just not how much, so i think I'm good on at least part of the tuition. Hopefully can get these transcripts ASAP. The three hour test I'm not worried about, I'll probably get a perfect score on that. Should be able to take it Thursday or Friday.

So I think I'm pretty much good on everything. I got flat tire on Sunday and I'm driving on a spare. Probably better sort that out after everything else since I'll be driving an hour each way five days a week. Figured I'd miss the gym today getting stuff, but it's looking like i might have time after all since i quit my job.

So I typed the rest of that earlier. I've run into a problem with the transcripts. Probably going to have to reschedule my appointment tomorrow because apparently this is going to take at least 24 hours. Figures the one I figured would have been the easiest turned out to be the hardest. Should've been on that one first thing this morning instead of the others.

Back at it after eight days off.

215lbs

Chin ups 5x10
Hamstring curls 5x10
Dips 3x20
Hammer curls 3x20
Adductors and abductors 3x20

Gonna get back on track this week. Scholl starts tomorrow. I'm thinking of going back to a three day gym week of Monday, Wednesday and Friday with accessories split up on those days to have weekends free.

I'm thinking of stopping this cycle immediately and cruising for a month and then starting it over. I've missed more gym days than I've been and feel like I'm wasting it. Should be able to get back close to where i was on a cruise dose and be better off than if i just continued on. Any thoughts on that from anyone?

Eight days off from the gym should do you some good as you should be recharged by now and ready to hit some big numbers. As long as you are feeling good and ready, there should be no impact to you and 3 days training is not a bad thing really. If you got time on the weekend use one of those days as a 4th day. Another option is to train on both weekend days and pick 2 days during the week.

Missing those days didn't do me any favors. I haven't been eating or sleeping right, plus i missed another week not long ago. It's set me back big time.

As far as gym days I do both weekend days and two weekdays now. I'd prefer that, but I'd like to have my weekends free for awhile or at least one of them. And if i split my accessories through the week there would be nothing left to do on the weekend, whether i had time or not.

Goodluck @Perrin Aybara --my dad was a long hauler (TriState/ABF) done over a million miles then bought a bar/BBQ in Alaska and retired.
Made good money for the times and raised our family and you can still do that . Kinda hard on the body but if you find time to exercise and dont load-up too much on truckstop food I think you can maintain the physique .

Thanks, OGH. I'm definitely going to be investing in something. Not a restaurant because I've been around that most of my life and i hate the restaurant business, but something like real estate.

School not scholl...just saying :Dlol
Congrats man.

@Perrin Aybara I know you've been busy and we need to catch up buddy, things have been pretty crazy for me too lately. I just wanted to pop in here and tell you I'm really proud of you my friend. I always root for the guys that want to better themselves, that's something you have been trying to do for just about as long as we've been friends.

I'm sure the courses you're about to complete are completely different than anything I ever did in college but, do your best to go above and beyond with this. After it was over for me, I wished I could go back and do certain things over and improve on what I had done in school. Best advice I could ever give anyone is to strive to be the absolute best at what you're doing when you're in school. It may sound silly but I promise it will set you up for success down the road. It's your personality to give yourself completely to what you're doing too, so I know you will have no problem going above and beyond.

Stay organized, look professional and finish this part up so you can move forward and make some serious cash. :)

The sad part is looking professional is sooooo easy to do in this field. Yet soooo many look like trash everyday. It really does make a difference and i promise it matters. Doors will open for you and stay closed for others simply on how you present yourself.

Be a man who happens to drive a truck not a truck driver.
I actually consider that term derogitory

I'll get with you soon. Had a crazy week besides just quitting my job and getting school going.

Also, I'm competitive and school comes easy for me, so should come naturally.

I actually dress really well, so that'll be no problem.

Excellent advice.

I interact with a lot of drivers. Some of them are a pleasure to work with. Others... Well, all I can say is wow. You'll meet some real interesting people at times, that's for sure. Not always interesting in a bad way either, I've met some brilliant individuals that drive for a living.

You can always tell which ones are doing well for themselves too. Professional and organized. It's not like I expect a guy to drive for 12 hours then step out of the cab in a tuxedo... But shit, have some pride in what you're doing. Take it seriously and others will take you seriously... A guy in sweats and a torn wife beater reeking of weed isn't someone that's going to be taken all that seriously.

Hand writing is another thing... Taking your time and writing neatly on paperwork is a pretty big deal, at least on my end of the spectrum so I'm making an educated guess on the trucking side. Sounds ridiculous but you wouldn't believe what I see some days. Trucking aside, I might see the same word spelled three different ways on a time card from an employee where I work... Swear to God, if breathing wasn't automatic, some of these fucking guys would suffocate.
