Prediction for the Arnold Classic Columbus 2018

Dave Palumbo makes videos for RXMuscle daily. Follow RXMuscle on youtube. Dave does a question and answer video every wednesday and he went into the science behind giving blood and he personally doesnt find a big benefit in it. He says in his years going hard with gear he never donated.

I personally dont know the science behind it but I do believe a lot of what Dave says. Daves good friend is Chris Aceto who is Rhodens coach and maybe he was told he doesnt need to donate blood. Who knows?

i was just poking a little fun. i've always liked Dave. He was definitely a beast in his prime.

You're right though. Who knows? Just glad to hear he pulled through alright.

Dave looked crazy. If he would have competed today he would have easily won his pro card.

Yes good thing Rhoden pulled through, if he didnt go to the hospital it might have been to late for him. Crazy thing was he felt great, no symptoms until it was too late.

Fucking winklers looking scary as fuck!
Dennis wolf is looking good for an old guy. William bonac is looking like Kai Greene when he won in 2016.

Final updates on the show:

This one was great. The Live Stream hosted by Generation Iron was pretty clear with no lag. Shawn Ray and Kai Greene were the hosts and did a good job. I dont like how Kai always beats around the bush about competing again and never answers the question. I think Kai could have won this show if he actually competed, he must be beating himself up in his head. Dennis Wolf made his comeback and kept to his word. He didnt look that great but respect for competing for his fans. We kind of knew the Bodybuilding could go any way. And if any one is off Dexter Jackson will gladly steal your spot. They did a best poser award and gave it to Fred Smalls and a best most muscular pose and gave that to Roelly Winklaar. I think the biggest shock of the night was Lionel Beyeke. His posing and physique looked the best I've seen him.

Arnold Classic:
1. William Bonac
2. Dexter Jackson
3. Cedric McMillin
4. Roelly Winklaar
5. Steve Kuclo
6. Lionel Beyeke

I'm not sure how they judge Bikini, they all looked great. But as I predicted Angelica defended her title, and also plans to defend it again in 2 weeks in Australia.

Womens Bikini:
1. Angelica Teixeira

Not a big fan of Mens Physique but it was fun to watch.

Mens Physique:
1. Andre Ferguson

Great show. I will be making another thread about the Australia Arnold Classic coming in 2 weeks! I know not many people watch the sport anymore but the Olympia and the Arnold Classics are great shows to watch, if you never seen one try to watch it if your not doing anything. Very motivating.

Keep posting about the sport! You're like the only one I've met that seems more genuinely interested in pro bodybuilding than I am :)

Will do. I love bodybuilding, and I compete myself. One of my dreams is to become an IFBB pro and I will do whatever it takes. While I eat food everyday I watch RXMuscle videos so I stay updated with everything. I already started the thread for the Arnold Australia. Trying to keep the bodybuilding section of this forum alive. Its crazy how so many people love the drugs and the lifestyle but dont follow the sport. These athletes take what we love to the extreme and its very motivating.

Ive thought about the health of Kevin levrone at 54 years old, getting as big as he ever has and over 260lbs, taking everything under the sun I imagine to win one last pro show, is probably taking years off his life at this point...

I'm rooting for him, but in the back of my mind I'm worried he's going to have health complications over the next few years.

I would agree, as at his age things start going south (and he's only a year older than me). In my mind, it may all be for naught but you never know!

This is Kevin Levrones love and passion. He wants to follow his dream and heart. I'm sure he has a lot of people watching him and goes to the doctor routinely. There is a healthy way of doing this if you keep a close eye on your health and listen to your body. Not saying this wont effect his health later on, but in life you need to follow your passion. Ronnie Coleman has been having tons of surgeries on his back, and they asked him if he had any regrets and he said he had one regret, if he could go back to when he was squating 800lb he would have went for more reps. This shows how extreme these athletes are, and how they will do anything for the sport they love.

Big Ramy would probably win the show if he was in it. Hes not competing in this Arnold.

Roelly does look insane, whatever there doing in Kuwait is working.

Dennis Wolf had neck surgery and hes been out of the game for 2 years. Usually with any major surgery it takes a big guy a long time to regain his size. In an interview prior to this he said he wants to compete for his fans to show them hes back. Much respect for him, but hes not close to where he was in size and who knows if he will ever be able to get that size back.

Was both disappointed and proud with Dennis Wolf's comeback. He's nowhere near the same size but if he did it before he can do it again, maybe even surpass it. Like Dexter Jackson he could just keep slowly getting bigger. Either he way he still goes down in top 10 of this era in my book.

Roelly was huge but he went from 3 years ago one of the tightest midsections to present Roelly with wide obliques and distension is lower abs.

I don't really think there is a healthy way of doing this i.e. weighing over 260. It's just a matter of acceptable risk. And that's relative to the individual.

Look at bodybuilders like Dexter Jackson, Jay Cutler, Dorian Yates, Arnold, Leverone. Bodybuilders dont just drop dead. Dallas McCarver wasnt killed from steroids directly, obviously they didnt help though. My point being is you can abuse the drugs like Rich Piana (may he RIP I have a lot of respect for him), or you can be smart about it. Choosing to take a drug in general is not healthy. But constantly getting bloodwork and going to the doctor does make it a lot healthier. The amount of drugs these top level pros take are extreme, but they are not dropping dead left and right.

Now talking about weight, if your over 260 its not healthy. Some of these guys push their weight way past 300 and it makes all your organs work that much harder. Holding that much weight is not healthy. Seeing a doctor routinely does help but of course doesnt mean its healthy.

Drugs and holding that much weight arent healthy, but like you said how much are you willing to risk to be the best at what you love. They say the more you sacrifice the better you look, and its true in a lot of different ways.

I don't agree with the use of phrases like a "healthy/safe way to do this" when it comes to pro bodybuilding. This is always a losing argument. There is nothing healthy about extreme, elite sports in general. There never has been. This is particular true about elite bodybuilding which is often synonymous with extreme drug use.

Strict medical monitoring and regular consultation with a healthcare professional doesn't make it healthy. It simply provides bodybuilders with more data that can inform their decisions. At the very least, it could give them an opportunity for medical/pharmaceutical intervention to treat and manage lifestyle-related side effects. It can also provide an opportunity for them to use the data to reevaluate their own personal reward/risk ratio of their endeavors in an informed and educated manner.

This is essential IMO.

I don't like ignorant and especially willfully-ignorant bodybuilders because there are so many easy opportunities for harm reduction that they are missing. They may not care much about their health but they don't have to be stupid about it.

Very true. I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just trying to play devils advocate. I know their mentality is to do whatever it takes. And right now I'm 27 years old and weigh 243lb and plan on pushing my body past 260lb and had to make similar decisions in my head. Obviously not as extreme as a pro bodybuilder but I can see their point of view. Bodybuilders like Ronnie Coleman love this sport so much their willing to die for it to achieve victory. Ronnie is my favorite bodybuilder because of his mentality, and I respect his work ethic and dedication.

Dave Palumbo says the stupid bodybuilders are the best. He said it in a joking way, but what he meant are the people that are willing to take anything without worrying about the consequences have a better chance of winning.

In the end, drugs and putting on that much weight isnt healthy. There is no argument there. You need to take the risks into consideration and ask yourself how far your willing to push yourself and how much you really love this sport.
