Progress/training log part 2:getting beary serious

Holy shit guys what s freakin night!

1.squats 6x4 305lb
2.deadlifts 405 9rpe amrap got 7!
3. Lat pulldown 4x8 140lb
4.Powerclean/pushpress 5x5 120lb
5.cardio 4 rounds hiit.

Guys im stoked! 405x7 with one left in the tank is a HUGE pr for me, was also feeling super gassy on the last few reps and getting that pukey feeling and honestly if that hadn't happened i feel like i maybe could of got 8 at rpe9 but who knows.
Still absolutely fucking stoked!!! Hahaha

4.pullups with band 4xamrap 6 6 5 5
5.shrugs 4x12 225lb 1x20 135lb
6.DB shrugs 3x12 120lb
7.cardio 4 rounds HIIT

Felt good tonight, squats moved real well so i was pleased with that bench was iffy as usual but i got through haha.

Deadlifts were good, fuck those sets of 10 killed me though! Wasn't using much weight at all but gosh darn i was huffin n puffin by the end haha.

Weighed in at 248lb so that means this little mini bulk is over and it's back to cuttsville R.I.P gains! Lmao

So good news i picked up a side painting job today from someone today, just one bedroom but it's full of all their stuff and the walls are really dirty and they have a ton of pictures that need to be taken down and the holes filled before its painted so i got 7 hours in today painting 2 walls and more in the next couple days doing the other half.

So anyways i was super fuckin tired got home at 6:30 and had a nice dinner and sat down to read and rest for an hour or so before the gym, didn't feel super motivated but got my ass up and went to the gym....i get all the way there and get in the locker room and undressed before i realized i left my fuckin shorts at home and of course it's the one night im wearin jeans instead of sweatpants...didn't really want to do clean and jerks in jeans so looks like im oushing my days over again, luckily still have enough room in my macros to salvage it as a rest day.

2.BOR overhand grip 3x12 135lb
3.snatch grip high pull 6x3 135lb
4.tri pushdown 4x16 130lb
5.incline fly (subbed for cable low to high) 3x12 45lb
6.rear delt fly 3x12 15lb
7.pushups 3xamrap 15 15 12
Had to skip cardio it was getting too damn late, i did go on a good paced and length walk today though.

Clean and jerk felt great tonight, didnt miss a rep and didnt have to drop weight so feel like maybe making some progress there.

First time doing those snatch grip high pulls and forgot i was doing them so i didnt do my homework to learn hownto do them so i just wung it lmao.

Everything moved well tonight, pretty straightforward workout nothin cray cray.

Some other cool things....got another full day of work in today on that side job and finished up. Also my boss from the painting gig put me in touch with snother contractor who might have some laborer work for me while the painting is slow.

Also...i bought a ticket to go see slayer, lamb of god, and behemoth in august...which is just going to be a sixk show, total powerhouse lineup..
Should i have spent $60 bucks on a concert ticket? No, probably not, but shit man i feel like I've been pretty good lately and i deserve to have somethinf to look forward to haha
 
Definitely. Plus...it's just a ridiculous fucking lineup, and I've been wanting to see lamb of god for years haha

I'm going to Chris Stapleton in April. Don't even know what he sings except for one song, but bought the tickets for $150+ for the now ex and I because she loves him and I'll be damned if I don't get my money's worth. Gonna have a good time (hopefully with another chick) and post on Facebook because we're still friends and I'm kinda petty like that.

2.incline bench 3x8 135lb
3.cable low to high 4x12 50lb
4.tri pushdown 4x12 140lb
5.straight bar curls 3x8 70lb
6.hammer curls 3x8 30 35 40
7.4 rounds HIIT kbell swings box jumps jumping jacks plank hold

Missed that 235 bench i fought it like motherfucker but it hit a sticking point and just wasnt goin oh well cant even sweat it with everything else going so well.

For my HIIT I've started adding some distance to the box jumps which is kind of fun training my jump a little bit because back in the day i had pretty decent hops for a white boy haha. Just jumping onto maybe 2.5-3 ft box and about 4 feet away or so. Also adding some reps to the other movements i do during HIIT because the old routine is getting a little too easy so definitely making progress on the cardio front.

Big day tomorrow got 5x5 at 305 squats which i havent done before so hopefully i can nail that, and also 5x5 at 405 deadlift which is going to be challenging hahah hopefully just going to fuck shit up though!:D

If you did video shoot me the clip of your failed bench and a set of the 205 and I'll figure out how we will break through this sticking point on bench because if you're cranking a 4x3 with 205 you should have the strength for 235. So let's tidy up the form as much as we possibly can to start making it grow again.

Stapleton is an amazing songwriter and player. He has been writing songs for other artists for years, he was basically pushed into a musicians role by the current industry. His peers felt he was too good to sit on the sidelines and ghost write and pushed him into the public eye. Or that's how the story goes... you most likely know about 20 of his songs and just don't know it.

I've heard part of that. The part about him writing anyway. When I was at that Aaron Lewis concert he mentioned he was singing a cover that was originally written by Chris Stapleton.

The one I do know is "Fire Away" because my ex listened to it a lot. Super sad song about a dude with a bipolar chick that ends up killing herself.
