Every time I hear about "free" healthcare I'm reminded of all the Canadians who come to the US for healthcare, or all the providers in Canada who cater to the high earning Canadians lucky enough to have private health insurance as part of their employment compensation...or that time on vacation on PEI I had an xray on a potentially broken finger but was told come back the next day since no radiologist who could read it was available until then...lol.

That said I do envy that half the people I meet at nordic spas in Quebec are there for free since a spa day is prescribed as a blood pressure treatment!

Well, if they truly "can't afford it" then they qualify for Medicaid, which not only covers comprehensive care but unlike private healthcare over the counter medicine as well.

And if they make a bit too much for medicaid, Affordable Care Act subsidies reduce monthly insurance premiums to $200 or less for full coverage, which is less than what most people in the socialized medicine countries you envy pay in additional taxes each month towards that "free" care.

Medical debt is no longer counted by the credit scoring agencies, and is now essentially unreported.

So before you come at me with your crybaby leftist fairy tales, while you blow the excess cash you have to burn on illegal drugs instead of paying for insurance or helping those you pretend to care so much about, at least try to keep up with current events, and go seek a brain transplant, clown.

A few things can be true

1. American health care is tops in the world if you have the money for it
2. It fucking sucks dick for poor people
3. The cost of health insurance is astronomical even for wealthy people unless you have a corpo subsidized health care plan. I'm a small business owner and was paying $1250/month for a shit tier HMO for my family until my wife got us a nice corpo PPO for cheaper.

Ask yourself this. A birth costs approximately $20,000 when billed to insurance.

Do you think the millions of uninsured illegal aliens in the US who have babies each year are bringing in a sack of cash to pay for that? Or being turned away and having babies on the side of the road? If the newborn has a heart defect requiring a million dollar treatment, guess what, they're getting it no matter what. Is the landscaper with a broken leg and no money hobbling around crippled from it being unset?

The "lose everything" fables are what politicians tell their constituents to make them feel better about a nine month wait to see a specialist for their intractable pain "for free", while they see a private doc within a week.

Private insurance, medicare, medicaid, chip, the number of uncovered citizens is in the low single digits and even they have options.
