Ricky's Powerlifting Log

Seeing the amount of logs in the Powerlifting Section has inspired me to make my own. I figured it was the best time to start because i'll be doing my 2nd blast in a little over a week from now, never cycled AAS. Anyways...

Training:
Hybrid of Westside Conjugate + Texas Method. Little higher frequency training at 6x/wk because I love to train, gauging my progress on my last blast though,I think i'll scale this down to 4-5x/wk for the sake of my tendons and joints. Alot of auto regulation.

Diet:
40/40/20. Currently on cruise I can maintain with 3k calories give or take. On blast i'll be bumping back up to 3600 and adjusting every few weeks as usual.

Goals:
Long Term, i'd like to hit a 2000 total in any weight class. As it stands, i'd probably have the best chance slowly bulking up and getting progressively stronger.

Short term goals is to hit 585/385/635 before this upcoming meet. The federation i'd like to compete in holds an annual comp every december so I have just about a year to prepare, which is quite a bit of time. I've never competed before so this would also be my first.

Alright thats the boring stuff. I'm not really going to go into compounds because its not a big focal point for my log, but i'll be running Sdrol and Test E for my blast. If I do hit any major PRs, i'll be sure to record them

Morning weight was 200.2lbs, cruising off 175mg of Test E

1x3, 1x5 Back Squats, No Sleeves @ 425lbs. RPE 9
8x3 Deficit Paused Deadlifts. RPE 5
4x12 Cable Row
4x12 Lat Pulldown

First set went south on squats... gym bar had no center knurling and was whippy, which made me lose balance. The 3rd rep turned into a quarter walking lunge lol. Had my buddy chalk my back up and guide my unrack on the 2nd set and it went smoothly

Great, great. What's your favorite or strongest movement?

I talked to a guy who benched over 700 the other day. In college he could only bench 225.

Yeah there are some freaks out there, shit is insane. Haven't met anyone like that at my gym... one 700+ puller and one benching 405x1 on incline which is still damn impressive.

How many years have you been lifting? He lifted in high school also, yet had a pathetic bench. He kinda said you need to dedicate yourself to powerlifting for 4 years, then you'll see if you how good you are.

Don't have an accurate starting date, but i'd have to say its just a little over 2.5 years, give or take. Been invovled in athletics most of my life though.

How many years do you think it takes for an average person to reach heights and success in powerlifting?

I have no idea. I saw one guy state you really won't know if you have it or not, till you dedicate 4 years into it.

I always thought you had to bench 400 lbs when you were 17, to be able to crack these huge numbers, but apparently not.

Yes, I am sometimes surprised and amazed at these young talents. How they do it at their age. Sport is getting younger) and the bar is weightless for them)

But such youngsters quickly take off and in fact many quickly finish or get injured or lose interest at the first difficulties. And sports veterans are more respectful. Who is devoted to sports for a long time

Nice to see another PL log
What are your current stats, I didn't see them
Weight
Best lifts
Haven't had a chance to reply till now. It was my fault for remaining so vague, I would've made some edits in hindsight.

Since i'm maintaining, my weight has remained at 200 without much flucuations. I'm wanting to push up to 215ish over the next few months, willing to put on quite a bit of weight, slowly

Best Sleeved Squat at 450 1x5
Best Bench Set was 295 1x5
Deadlift is lagging pretty far behind at 530 1x3

Not the greatest numbers by any means but i'm happy with what i've got to work with haha. Perhaps i'll achieve all the goals I set for the end of 2022 but only time will tell.
