Sema/Thriz/Reta choices

Currently I’m on Sema, up to 1.25mg/week and have been losing an average of 1lb/week or less. I started at a medspa, just shifted to Skye and now researching China direct. My inflammation can vary widely so the scale jumps all over the place. Sema has helped with inflammation and I’m looking into running BPC/TB for. 6-8 week protocol to see if it helps more and than a series of Thymosin Alpha 1 after that.

My question is with the lower pricing of China direct Tirz/Reta is more affordable so it has become and option. Sema makes me SO tired and I feel like some weeks it works really well and other weeks not as much. If you were to change what would you choose? I’ve researched all of them pretty extensively so I know the pro/cons but looking for people who have switched and what they liked or don’t like.

Welcome back! I thought I was seeing things when I saw your username

A necessary, even if enforced, break.

I've been able to regroup, and consider a more focused approach that will allow me to accomplish my goals here, while eliminating unnecessary distractions.

Honestly, between the number of threads I've been active in and ever increasing DMs asking for help (sometimes dozens a day) it became impossible to give the attention important issues (and members in need) deserve.

Welcome back, try not to get banned again you idiot ❤️

FWIW, I started taking 1000mg Taurine daily a year ago, and haven't had a cramp of any kind ever since.
I wanted to circle back to this. I started taking 500mg of taurine and have been blown away by the energy boost I have gotten. Unfortunately I have had an increase in leg cramps. lol. I was down to one every 4-6 weeks on my electrolyte capsules but when adding taurine I am getting them at least once a week. Also getting them in the leg I never used too. . No clue on this one.

I'm glad the Taurine is working well for you.

As far as energy, it's a key ingredient in Red Bull (Taurus -> Taurine, originally sourced from bull semen lol).

Anyway, I also take Magnesium, specifically the Lysinate Glycinate type. It may be that the stronger nerve impulses Taurine is providing you, while preventing some cramps, is, paradoxically triggering cramps in other muscles prone to them. Magnesium alters nerve function in a different way. and may stop the cramps in the new muscles getting them now. I take a small dose, 100mg, in the morning along with the Taurine. If you aren't already, give that a try. It has a nice calming effect as well, without sedation.

I'm not a "supplement nut", and keep things to a minimum, having narrowed down to only those things I found to actually provide a benefit I could notice, so after trying dozens of supplements over the years now it's just:

-GNC Mega Men Energy and Metabolism Multivitamin (a great multivitamin, just two tablets, and cheap to boot (especially from Sam's Club).

1 - 100mg Magnesium Glycinate

1- 1000mg Taurine Capsule

I've decided to take the plunge and ordered 30mg of tirz. I'll be starting 1.5mg per week, (0.5mg M-W-F).

My goal is to use this for body recomp and to improve my insulin sensitivity, which has taken a hit since increasing my growth hormone to 10 IU/day.

I used to dismiss GLP, thinking it was just for lazy, overweight people, but I've realized it's just a tool (just as steroids, hgh, insulin, etc...) with many benefits.

I do take magnesium glycinate but in a blend from 1st Phorm so not sure how much of that specific one I am getting. My supplements are pretty light too. D3 because we live where there is no sunlight for months on end. Taurine, electrolyte capsules, magnesium drink and a women’s multi vitamin. I do add zinc every other day when running GHKcu.

are here people that use tirz or sema for other benefits then appitite?
Yes, I use Tirz mostly for insulin resistance, and honestly, it’s been a game-changer. On top of that, it’s like a multitasking overachiever - better blood sugar control, improved energy, reduced inflammation, and even some cardiovascular benefits. Plus, let’s not forget the bonus of not feeling like a snack monster 24/7. It’s like getting a whole health upgrade in one shot!

It also prevents neurons from being damaged by oxidation, literally keeping brain cells alive and in better condition than they would be otherwise.

Experiments with GLP-1 eye drops have shown they can stop, and even reverse damage to optic nerves, so it's very likely when taken systemically it's also protecting vision from the degeneration that typically happens with age (and even more rapidly with diabetes).

I'm always surprised when people say sema gave them more appetite suppression than tirz. Maybe bc it's ugl? Or maybe it's just individual dependant. When I had access to ozempic and mounjaro the mounjaro hit me like a truck the next day every time I took a shot. I could barely eat for the next two days. So far I haven't experienced that again with UGL unfortunately. It was awesome for dieting but gave me some bad constipation. Had to stock up on magnesium oxide and milk of magnesia bc the metamucil wasn't enough

There's a lot of individual variation in how people react. That said, semaglutide is nearly bioidentical to GLP and binds more fully to the receptor than tirzepatide.

You can assume that semaglutide would have a greater effect milligram for milligram in the GLP1 section of the following chart, but tirzepatide generally has better efficacy because it has a broader set of mechanisms of action:

I've primarily used pharma of both. 15mg of Zepbound doesn't come close to the appetite suppression of 2:4mg Wegovy for me.

However, Zepbound (tirz) is easier to live with.

Perhaps I have greater resistance to tirz due to drug neutralizing antibodies, because according to the trials tirz should result in greater loss, and for me, it definitely does not.
