I will agree that communicating through email is usually the best way to go about solving problems. It’s a one on one conversation that should be straight forward, to the point, and sorted out by each party in a timely manner.
But... I also think that posting on a sources thread is another way to communicate. It’s just a more open way to do so.
I don’t agree that it wastes members time reading it. In fact, it should help potential customers make a better decision when they are questioning how a source goes about problems, big or small. When they read that a source takes care of issues, doesn’t sweep them to the side, or make excuses then I would think it would be in favor of the source.
When the thread gets ‘messy’ then you should be thankful that you have a board like Meso that you can explain your side of the story openly to the members here so they can have a better understanding to that situation. This may help you more than you realize because they see how you handle yourself when facing those issues.
Instead of thinking that problems being posted out in the open is a negative thing, maybe think about it in a more positive way.
