Don't use those filter needles for re-filtering gear. 5 microns is too big to filter out bacteria. Filters need to be 0.22 microns or smaller.
Those have to be PTFE or PVDF correct? Or the BA degrades the filter?

There’s a few on YouTube, search cheap filter syringe and it should bring one up with a guy talking about filtering gear. Shows you the basics of using a syringe filterAre there any good videos showing the re-filtering process? I did a little searching in YouTube without much luck

Ok so this is a lot easier than I thought. Re-filtering is going to be standard operating procedure for me now! My question is how many vials can you put through one filter? I was thinking of getting 50ml vials and re-filter to them.
100 ml through one filter I’m told, and to go slow

Reading some of the specs online, some of them are rated for 10-200mL filtration volume
I’d imagine the filter life depends on the sample being filtered. A clean sample/oil wouldn’t be likely to clog the filter.
Maybe it’s like dating. You keep going until that dirty girl doesn’t put out anymore

You need to read what they are filtering. Those filters weren’t designed solely for filtering steroids. I use the same ones in my industry for filtering water quality samples. Water that is murky with fine sediment.
Yeah do go slow. If you go fast you’ll blow out the filter and you’ll know it’s blown out of all of a sudden it’s easy to filter. steady pressure.100 ml through one filter I’m told, and to go slow
Wouldn’t filter size be a factor as well? I’d imagine the filters you’re using are wider than a syringe?
Man finally got caught up here, what a fucking mess. I shouldn't be, but am always surprised with the amount of dick riders that come out of the wood work to defend sources when they fuck up. It is pretty pathetic, although not uncommon here.

I do 25 mm .22 micron and use nylon because they work for anything for our purposes BA, BB, oil. Where other ones have certain parameters that i dont care to look up. I have done 120 mL fine. And squeezing the fuck out of the syringe to where my hands hurt using a 3 mL syringe. Going to try 5 mL for now on. It takes roughly an hour for the whole process. Including cleaning properly and sterilizingReading some of the specs online, some of them are rated for 10-200mL filtration volume
