Having now lurked other pages, in the last 2 years this place really just seems like one big shit show.

Why is MESO dominated by shit Chinese source that you guys constantly allow to fuck up. “Oh we told them”. But they still do the same shit and you guys treat these threads like the popular hang out , water cooler talk thread.

Also, MESO seems to be the only page where some bullshit, half ass, no name source is popping up. Why’s that here and no where else.

If we’re being real, GL and Stan carried this page. Now it’s just Stan and axle. Without them, the groups worthless.

Just seems to be some wild delusion going on. I’ve never so so many members ready to argue and it be completely meaningless. Seems like an echo chamber.

We used to actually have some power to get shit sources off this board and it was a good time to be around. I’d much rather have 2 solid sources on than board than what we have now with a dozen or so sources who’ve got a litany list of issues in their past and present.

Back the when a sources had to many strikes against them we would bombard their thread until the business dries up to a point where it was no longer worth the effort for them and they’d eventually go over to BOP and or Eroids and fizzle out.

Now days it’s just a mess in the underground and I’m pretty disappointed in how far down it’s gone. But again we always stated that meso was not a source board but it seems as that has changed as well with all the sponsored sticky threads at the top of the underground now. I’m sure there would be some sort of protection offered to those sources after a hefty sponsorship fee was paid, in short it’s probably in the board and sources best interest for business to axe a couple disgruntled members than it is to axe a source now. I still like meso but this is definitely a new (not so sure better) version than what I had grown to love about this site.

A few years back (5-7, idk), there were no sponsored sources on here. Everything fell in the underground (all UGL's & resellers). Not sure when that changed. That was a thing back then because other forums had paid/sponsored sources and they ban you if you talked against a source. On here, the members ran the show. Again, I was off here for a few years so dunno how/what happened or changed.

Ehh.. Meso definitely isn’t what it used to be but it’s still the standard for harm reduction and tested gear. This place is the very reason sources test their products. Meso’s testing subforum is superior than any other.

I miss the old days of when this was an uncensored board. If a source made it here they could make it anywhere. If they didn’t make it here then it was unlikely they would make it anywhere else either because when we were through vetting them their reputation was in the gutter. Those times are gone unfortunately.

FYI.. Axle isn’t even a good source lol. They have been banned from SST and been caught on numerous occasions shitting the bed here as well. Unfortunately the “shit Chinese source” caught the eye of a bunch of redditors who flocked here for them. Those guys buy from anyone and is why Axle has seemed to have a standing here.

This was my home board. I ventured out to SST just to study sources over there.

I know the whole deal behind axle. But I’d buy from him before GA, QSC, etc (until the recent QSC news). I’ve ran axles gear a few times with zero issues and everything doing what it’s supposed to.

I’ve spent thousands with GL, and honestly when he left I crept around elsewhere.

I will say this board has a much better community, and better quality members. But sources seem ti be a toss up in both boards. And as I said in my initial post, things are a little more consistent there. Every week seems like something new and random pops up here.

And just to clarify, I am not just taking any sources word for it. Sure, that’s more common practice over there. But sources there seems to be equally open and responsive to answering questions. Readalot has been doing his thing there equally lol.

What more can you actually do?

Am I wrong to think that prior to QSC, Matrix was one of your best and most willing projects?

Because of all that, he seems great on paper. Why wouldn’t you test his gear. Unfortunately, I ended up with floaters under a flashlight.

So at the end of the day, can we really assure that members can fully vet and trust a source for long term consistency? Seems Stan and Opti are the only long game guys.

I would agree. It’s way more cut throat over here. Which I’m cool with. But sometimes overly cut throat and become that way with sources too, when it isn’t necessary warranted.

There is no filtering of vendors by the moderator unless they break the rules. Most other boards have a slew of problems such as rampant shilling, "pay to play", favoritism by the administrators, comment filtering/deleting, banning members who criticize favored sources. etc. What you perceive as "shit sources popping up" is just the wild west of the underground. It is up to us to vet sources and push away bad ones. The moderator only enforces the rules.

Please name a board that is better for vetting sources. Honest question. Sure, Meso is not perfect and can be improved and I think the goal should always be to improve because nothing is perfect. The overall quality of the board ebs and flows with who is active on it and how they are behaving.

If you don't like Chinese sources then don't purchase from them and don't participate in their threads or go to their threads to give reasonable and needed criticism.

I see a lot of complaints and bitching but no solutions. What are YOU doing to better the board and community? This is essentially a member run board which means it's all of our and YOUR responsibility to make it what we want it to be. So get out there and make it happen. Let's see some useful and beneficial contributions from you. That's a lot more productive and respectable than a Karen tantrum thread.

I've used plenty besides Test but you are correct haven't pulled trigger on UGL yet. Part of the reason I came here. Help to improve UGL products that I may want to use.

I understand entirely how all of it works. I’m not ignorant to it in the least.

My point is you guys let these china source get away with shit for quite some time. I’m very well familiar with axles past. Name a source who doesn’t have a past? Isn’t it up to us to hold them to a standard? Otherwise they continue to operate at the bare minimum. Axle cleaned up a lot since then. Things have been relatively quiet. And if he’s that bad, why’s he still here and not ran off?

Everyone hated readalot for what he was doing, and still does. But is he not doing what exactly should be done? Or is he now doing too much?

Yeah, exactly. ~6 months. And how many of the new guys, that become the “better” sources, are actually just rebrands who ran off previously. Seems like it could all be a cyclical rinse.
