Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

Lol, I admit I watched Tombstone several days ago and believe that's the level of ignorance this 21yo LIVES at day in and out!

Val Kilmers greatest performance IMO!

The sad part is how many posts you've accumulated in your quest to prove yourself as real. I have maybe this weekend to post or read. No doctor, unless he is disabled for some reason, has your free time to answer posts on a board with this frequency. I go back to work monday, but judging your count, you don't. I can spot liars a mile away in real life and on the web. 7 years ago you would've fooled me too, you loser. You'll get yours, even if no one else on this board figures your cheap game out.

You are a fake. You will be found out one day. Don't kid yourself. Epic rant over.

Contagion, you sneaky bastard! You changed tactics and tried a flanking maneuver, and it actually worked for a little while too. But you can't hide for long before giving yourself away.

I'd say it's been fun but it really hasn't. See you in your next incarnation, loser.

No, I'm saying I'm a trained doctor but I don't specialize in vascular surgery. I've stated my case, moving on.

...a trained doctor with a MCAT score of 21p? Hmmm, so how was the weather down at that Caribbean med school, doc?!? :)

Tommy Lee Jones was great in the Fugitive in '93, but Val Kilmer should at the very least have been considered for an Academy Award for his portrayal as Doc Holliday. He was incredible portraying Jim Morisson as well, but Tombstone takes the cake.
I watched Tombstone for the first time many years ago. As a kid, I was mesmerized by his portrayal. Now in my late 20s, I still am, but for a great many further reasons.

Some fun trivia: Val Kilmer is actually very handy, as seen in his films. For example, notice in Tombstone how he flips the coin down from one finger to the other when playing poker, he simultatenously spins a gun in each hand but in opposite directions, he does the Johnny Ringo-impersonation using a small tin cup. And a particularly sweet detail: In the final match with Johnny Ringo, where Doc shows up instead of Wyatt, Ringo actually draws before Doc does. But Doc is simply that much faster, so despite Ringo drawing before Doc, Doc fires first. The brilliance of Doc defying his sickness to take on Ringo, both Doc and Wyatt knowing that Wyatt can't defeat Ringo. Brilliant screenwriting.

You get to see Kilmer's handle on guns in "HEAT" (1995) as well, during the shootout in the streets of LA. He handles an M4 like a pro.

Two scenes I love in Tombstone, although tough to pick from so many..

1.

After coughing up half a lung, Doc is asked by Turkey Creek Jack Johnson, whilst on their campaign to combat the cowboys: "You ought to be in bed, what the hell you doing this for anyway?"
Doc replies "Wyatt Earp is my friend."
Jack replies "Hell, I got lots of friends."
Doc stops, pauses, and replies "...I don't".

2.

Doc Holliday: What did you ever want?
Wyatt Earp: Just to live a normal life.
Doc Holliday: There's no normal life, Wyatt, it's just life. Get on with it.
Wyatt Earp: Don't know how.
Doc Holliday: Sure you do. Say goodbye to me. Go grab that spirited actress and make her your own. Take that beauty from it, don't look back. Live every second. Live right on to the end. Live Wyatt. Live for me. Wyatt, if you were ever my friend - if ya ever had even the slightest of feelin' for me, leave now. Leave now... Please.
Wyatt Earp: Thanks for always being there, Doc.
Wyatt leaves, and Doc looks at the little book Wyatt has written and left for him, titled "My Friend - Doc Holliday".

As a kid, that scene did not bring a tear to my eyes. It does now.

I too was shocked upon noting his performance in TS was NOT even NOMINATED for an ACADEMY AWARD, fact is I've not watched that rigged ceremony ever since!

You want to win an Academy Award? Make a movie about whatever social issue is en vogue with the political left at the moment. The film doesn't even have to be any good as long as it raises awareness about some injustice. If it does that, it's Oscar material. To prove my point, I'll use 1977's Star Wars since yet another trilogy is currently in production almost 40 years later. Star Wars was one of the greatest movies ever made, and certainly the greatest sci-fi movie. It not only spawned sequels or 'prequels,' but it advanced cinematography and special effects in ways that most can't even fathom, and its influence continues to be felt to this day. I remember when it was released - I'd never seen so much excitement over a movie before and it was the biggest film of 1977, by far. But Star Wars didn't address gay or minority rights or women's liberation so it lost to Annie Hall - a film about gender differences in sexuality that put most people to sleep. When is the last time you heard about Annie Hall influencing anything? Hell, when's the last time you heard about Annie Hall. And that's just one example. Look at past winners and you'll see the pattern repeat itself year after year. Screw the Academy. I don't watch movies anyway.

Hey brother, Totally agree, Star Wars was brilliant, and the composers/musicicians, even more brilliant! Political corruption is always on to exist, and Star Wars can't say it any better! So kool to hear a like minded fellow !
