I agree with you 100%. I don't like to carry a lot of negative energy and like I mentioned earlier if he's real I don't care for him and if he's not then he's not.

I just like to understand other people's takes.

You mean I DON'T Have to donate 30% of my wages to a church to get into heaven?? Lol
 
I'm with you, trukker..church is simply God's people. Going to church doesn't make you any more of a Christian just as a gym won't make you a bodybuilder if you just go in and sit down.
I know several people that won't miss a Sunday service but as soon as they're at lunch after that service they will cuss their waiter or waitress for getting an order wrong lol

Maybe not 30% but i do feel if you regularly attend a church then you should be contributing. whether that's money or donating your time.... i know people get caught up with the whole money thing, but if you want to keep your churches doors open then you should help out. .

I was referring to people who will talk the Jesus talk in a church setting but as soon as they step outside the doors they can't walk the Jesus walk.

People are religious about lots of things; gods, talented leaders, governments, forms of government, even pseudo science. It basically means believing in something you can't prove. It makes one vulnerable to manipulation IMO, especially when the believing is done in-mass. Authorities spring up to provide direction, and more often than not that direction serves the personal interests of the authorities.

But if you "believe" you have free will. Then you should also believe there is a god, because NOTHING in any physical science can account for free will in the universe. About the only time I question the existence of god anymore is when I'm cutting, and can't resist having a snack before bed..

To continue to follow word for word a spiritual text(bible) written thousands of years ago and meant for the level of consciousness of people back then is akin to saying we've made no spiritual progress in the last 2 thousand years. No book on earth can bring about enlightenment, books serve merely as signposts for those who are actively seeking. The answers we seek are found within. Jesus was a son of God, sure but SO IS EVERYONE ELSE!
Jesus never meant for people to worship him! He was trying to tell everyone that they too are spiritual beings living a physical existence. Want to find God? Stop looking, start meditating and find answers within the silence. Touch base with that part of yourself that is timeless, immortal and part of everything that exists. Including God.
 
There is no god. The Bible is not original. More it is ripped off from previously existing stories. Hell Jesus isn't even the first Jesus. The Jesus myth is a compilation of gods that came before him. From Ra to Mithra history is rank with miracle performing, 12 disciple following, virgin birth, December 25th lamb of god and king of king, crucified and resurrected gods. There is nothing original about the Jesus myth and only dubious "proof" he ever existed.

It's not a coincidence that all the "miracles" performed in the day have all but disappeared now that we have ways to document and track.

That said, idc what people believe as long as they don't try to legislate it and make everyone else live by their creed.

Jesus is 100% man and 100% God. the whole trinity thing is hard to wrap my mind around but i would have to say there's a difference between us and Jesus.
Jesus did say there's no way to our father but through him.
We worship God and are able to have direct communication with him through Jesus.
