What dose it take to be a competive bodybuilder these days.

By the way, Kai back in incredible. I don't think a human had walked in this planet or ever will again with that much volume in his back

What are your thoughts on Dennis wolf?

Dennis has made some amazing progress over the last few years and is definitely one of the taller body builders, in some pictures I think he looks good but then when I see him stand next to Phil you can see there is still a way to go. Dennis's legs have a funny shape to them where the sweep is super exaggerated and the insert from that sweep at the knee joint is very fine, they also seem to finish high on his leg.

I think he looks best at about 3 weeks out and then losses some condition coming into the show, maybe this year he will nail it, having said that if he gets his condition right and the others miss the boat buy a day or two he is right in the mix, as it stands I cant see him beating Phil or Kai at the moment.

Yea I think dennis has made tons of progress in the last two years or so. I never thought he would ever break the top four and did he fool me. I don't think he has what it takes to break top two at the moment, unless kai slacks, which we know phil will not. Also shawn rhoden has made tremendous gains. And we all know where big Ramy stands. I think think this year its..
1st phil
2nd kai
3rd dennis
4th rhoden
5th Ramy

pottential stir up
1st phil
2nd dennis
3rd kai
4th rhoden
5th ramy

dper I agree with your list 100%. That will be it for sure. One of those two lists. Ramy is amazing! Dennis I can relate to due to his height. I find impressive to get that big at 6'0 as I am 6'2 and getting to 235 was a bitch lol much less 285. I keep thinking Gabe moen will show up but it never happens?! That guy is a monster!

I can relate too I'm 6 ft and 240 is a bitch to maintain without the food. And at that weight I look small. To look impressively big I need 260lb lean. And I don't ever see myself getting there lol

Hi guys maybe I can help, there was a article I copied and pasted in the Freak status why diet thread. Its a really good read and I have used it with great success to overcome sticking points in my career, sometimes its not all about the compounds we use but how we use them and at what times.

There is a element of truth in the fact the more you use the bigger you will get, but there is a point at which you must use these compounds in a more effective and less destructive way, in other words you must get them to give you more bang for your buck.

I hear that! Im not going to lie tren scares me a little. But back on topic of the thread. What do you think the most destructive chemicle these pros take? I have heard of one compound that they inject into the vien that swells (enflames?) the tissue what is that called?

I think you maybe referring to Esiclene which is a old fashioned water based drug used to inflame the muscle site giving a temporary increase in size. It was mostly used to add a peak to the biceps and was very popular at one stage.

The two drugs that scare me the most are diuretics and insulin, both will cause death if abused buy those with limited knowledge on how they work and what must and must not be done while using them.

Shredded, when you do one part a day, like for arms, do you do biceps one day, then tri another? How do you split up legs? I thought about calves for one day, but that seems like a lot of sets for just calves, I also thought about hamstrings, not sure how to get those isolated to warrant their own day. Normally I alternate on leg day, hammy 1st or quads 1st.

Hey mate sorry for the late reply im only 3 weeks out from this years Australian Titles and carb depleted so have very little time or energy to be as diligent as I should on the forum.

Now to your question, I do biceps and triceps together as they are only small muscle groups and I feel I can combine them together without them suffering from lack of intensity during the workout.

For legs I do hamstrings first as they are weaker than my quads, then I do quads and legs are done, calves are done with shoulders as again two smaller muscle groups although shoulders can be spilt into three heads. Another reason for putting calves with my shoulders is im very lucky in that calves is my best muscle group and I can afford to neglect them to some degree and it would actually improve my symmetry.

I must say I really like doing hamstrings first and have seen a lot of improvement from doing this, up until two years ago I would always do quads first and then just chuck hamstrings in at the end but such is the level of competition these days know one can afford any weaker body parts.

Good luck on the contest prep! Pic's of your show would be awesome!

I've recently tried putting hamstrings first too (because of some advice from Lee Priest), and I didn't know I could lift that much, I guess my quads had been so tired by the time I got to hamstrings, I couldn't hit them as effectively. So I have been alternating on leg days, hammy first or quad first.

Thanks for the tip shredded, I'll be switching to this style here in a few weeks after my current cycle ends. I hope to put on some gains in my "off season", and I feel like your approach will really allow me to focus on areas that need special attention.

I will post comp pictures you have my word, even if I lose you will get to see me at the present moment No BS.

Lee was right in todays line up they all have massive hamy's do them first its what I think works best.

On a personal level to everyone who has followed or commented on this thread I would like to say thank you, im lucky to have come across this site.
