What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

That looks good... Although, as with most vegan things, I don't trust it. :)
I'd be a lair if I said it's JUST like meat, but it does come pretty damn close.

For me, what vegan meats lack is mostly texture. I have yet to find somewhere that can get that muscle fiber and chewy texture correct. If it wasn't for that, you'd never really know. So yes, vegan meats aren't too be trusted...they are the unknown **plays spooky ghost booing sound**

most meat alternatives are made from 'vital wheat gluten' and secondly 'soy'
most aren't bad but far from the real thing

Not all meat is raised in conditions stated above. I agree the meat you get in some stores sucks but there are other alternatives. You could always actually go fishing and hunting and then you know what you are eating. Look around and find a cool rancher and buy a steer and have it butchered by a true butcher. Not all feedlots are like the horror shows that the media puts out. Not trying to convert any vegans but there is good animal protein to be had. In the end its your choice. :)
totally agree. thats why we are buying local once our reserves are gone.
i should get into hunting. i have plenty of guns. we live in an extremely populated are (40 min outside bronx in a different state) in order to go hunting we have to go north which is also fine but our state is nothing like states like PA, TX, OK, FL, etc when it comes to hunting.

i with i knew of private ranchers down south that had folks like me come and hunt on their land for a fee. for an extra fee one of the land owners tag along with us.

but for now i'll use one of the many local farms and that will do

Farmed fish can be bad for sure... It's helpful to look for certifications and the sources. Wild is definitely better but not always realistic. The best salmon is primarily going to be Pacific.

Also, there's no excuse for avoiding shell fish... Unless you're allergic, in which case it's only sort of acceptable. :)

this thought process is leftover from my years of being vegan. people like me do a lot of reading and research on food in general to get us to the point to go so extreme and cut out animal products.

things like shellfish are something i probably won't ever go back to after knowing how much junk they find in them and what they are pumped with (shrimp, prongs)
for now i'll do cold water fish and poultry.

last night i was in the fetal position until i fell asleep after eating 1 turkey burger. stomach cramped up, mouth watering like i was going to puke. ughh. maybe another week and i'll be good

i don't live in NY. not sure i can hunt there or if i can i'd have to figure out how to get a permit. crossing state lines in the tri-state can be tricky with firearms

I think you said you're up further North? I've hunted up there... Doesn't get any better. With that said, you probably would be better to stick with farm raised venison or whatever... Even die hard carnivores don't always do great with wild game.

I hunted years ago along the Canadian border for bear. That experience will put hair on your nuts, for real. You think you're hot shit of a hunter until you're looking at a couple hundred lbs of the blackest black of an animal you've ever seen and you shake like a leaf... The guides had story after story of guys shitting themselves in a tree stand, something very intense about it. If you find yourself between a mama and her cubs... Prepare to meet your maker.

Id. Bet. Sounds hairy.

No I’m from connecticut. I mentioned i can get fish from a Maine source. A guy owns piers up there and they bring fresh seafood to CT. It takes a 3 week hunting course which is run by the state just to get a hunting license here. The NRA used to run it but our socialist government run state took the process over and the few classes they offer are booked out going on a year.

I have my conceal permit. But not hunting license. This state isn’t like NY state or Texas. It takes 3 fucking weekends or a 24 hour course then a written test and a field test in order to get a hunting license here

My bad. Point I was making is there are plenty opportunities to hunt if you want. Getting back to Ma Nature does something for your soul. The majority of hunters/ fishermen love to introduce people to it. Kinda the same type thing that goes on here. Lots of help if you ask for it. Peace.

Your right.
I need to find some private land owners that lease their land. Its just really difficult here.

I'm a proponent of hunter education and safety... Pretty important when a kid walks out into the woods with a weapon, only takes a fraction of a second to make a life altering mistake. I believe wholeheartedly in the 2nd amendment as well however, I believe in a demonstration of ability too.

Don't even get me started on the NRA.

Yes sir. My lady took me out. Just got back to the crib, had a few drinks lol. Rare form for me as of recent. Fog cutter, margarita and a bud light.

Dinner was white rice and chicken teriyaki. No pics but it wasn't a wicked bad meal or anything like that. Still eating somewhat clean.

Feeling good : )
You been earning that feel good feeling my brother. Good stuff.
