What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

Never really track calories too much. I used my fitness pal, but would eat dinner out every day so that would be pretty inaccurate. Since then I've started prepping all my meals, I only eat out rarely with the kids on the weekends now. I feel like now that my diet is better dialed in I should see better progress at the gym.

MFP does a pretty good job at tracking even if you eat out. You just have to do your best "guesstimation" on the portion size. :)

Wouldn't be too sure here unless fast food. When someone else is cooking your meals you have no idea what sauces seasonings etc are being put in there. Guess how much butter they add to your steamed brocolli or asparagus? Guess how much oil or super fatty/sugary dressing they add to your salad? They are not measuring out everything, they are cooking to taste. Fast food style is about the only thing you can get somewhat accurate on since so much of theirs is pre-prepped by the company and they just assembly line it together.

I agree! That's why I said "best guesstimation". I would think you could get within a couple hundred calories. I figure as long as I'm over estimating the number of calories I'm consuming during a cut, especially while eating out, I should be able to stay under the number of calories I want to eat during the day. Although I guess it also depends on what you order!
