What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

Seven Dog, do you weigh out your food?? Are you specifically counting calories and macros?
I would be if i was you. Establish routines. Do it for a cpl years till you see exactly what your meals should look like and exactly where cals and protein goes. I did it on paper for years every single day. Till it was almost mental masturbation. I mean if u wanna make progress n all. REAL PROGRESS

I definitely do. I’ve learned to like it actually. I use my fitness pal app. Just curious if you senior members do. Wasn’t sure if I was part of an extreme minority.

Depends what your goals are. If your trying to get as big and strong as your genetics will allow yeah i think its a necessity. And tbh i think everyone should do it if their serious. Itll teach you so much about food groups, carb intake, protein, fats, fiber and allow you to tweak it for desired results. Give you complete control over your goals. Not kinda, sorta know what your taking in everyday. Especially when the journey just begins. My habit and it has always been my habit is to under eat when im trying to add mass. Not keeping yourself accountable by seeing your cal intake leads to failed goals. "Oh im full so i must have ate enough" isnt how this works lol.

Same here . If I want to extreme cut ya gotta use Fit-Pal or some app like it ....and the same for extreme bulking . I havent used an app in a few yrs (and it shows ;))

This is gonna sound stupid, but how would I count marcos on pasta sauce and chili? You just enter all your ingredients and the app then weigh a big spoon full and the app does the rest? I have myfitpal downloaded, haven't really messed with it though.

That's where it becomes a pain in the ass.

You'd generate a recipe and portion it out to make it easiest. Basically, enter all your ingredients and say there's 4 servings and then divide the sauce into 4 containers or 4 meals. Something like that.

You can also just use a generic entry that's already uploaded to the site like "meat sauce" or something. It won't be exact, my entries rarely calculate correctly at the end of the day, but you at least put something in for it. Just entering something is typically going to be enough, even if you're not 100% accurate.

Unless you're really trying to grow or diet, I think eating intuitively is better. If you just want to lose a few lbs, or maybe just maintain weight and be fit, just make healthy choices and workout. If you're trying to lose fat and nothing seems to be working, that's when it's good to take a closer look.

Eman is right. Recipes become a pain in the ass. Like anything it’s a learning curb and counting these calories really tests your will.

If you buy a jar of sauce or chili or salsa, etc. all you do is scan the barcode and the app already has everything done for you. You just enter amount.

It is a bit extreme I suppose. I do it to make sure I’m getting enough protein. Doing this without meat is hard to guess or eyeball ya know? So I really need to know where I am throughout the day.

I do meal prep every Sunday for the week and my meal prep covers about 70-80% of my needed protein. The remainder is shakes and bars I need to log in

No one said being vegan is easy... You guys have to be very calculated and organized with diet.

Makes me want to go eat a steak just thinking about it. :)

Lol. Seriously. I might join you!

The one thing I miss is pepperoni pizza NY style thin crust since I’m from the tri-state. I don’t miss red meat or pork but what I would do for a large pepperoni
