Who Else Misses The Freaks of the 90's?

One thing that serge nubret was known for was taking 6 months out of the year off from bodybuilding and looking pretty average and would grow into a show when resuming training.Great genetics.

Not sure if it is true or not but kevin levrone was also rumored to be another that grew into shows and took complete time off during the year. His body was a perfect sponge for aas and great genetics as well.

I've heard the same thing about Levrone too, for a few of the Mr Olympia's he would take 6 months off before the show, not really eating or taking any gear, then he would start 6 months before the show with the gear and training and food and would come even bigger and better than the year before.

He looked absolutely ridiculous in the 99 grand prix....

Serge is still my favorite physique of all time though. But nobody will look as good as him even with the exact same stats, his physique was absolutely perfect. God tier genetics....

Look at that waist and those lines. Things that many of the BBs today can only dream about. If we could only return to sensibility....

They all had great genetics ...

Serge' body could have used that extra rest because of his high volume training ...

He also ate once a day
and 4lbs of horse meat at a time and I read all over that he never used gear .. I'm serious on that too

M

I thought that it was fillet mignon that he ate 4 lbs a day.

He just might. Levrone had a crazy physique. Going to be extremely taxing on his body, but will definitely be cool to follow.

His theory is that from all of the rest and time off he will have less wear and tear and of course sick ass muscle memory.

At 48 I wonder if his body will be able to withstand all of the stress from lifting etc. Obviously he has god like genetics. We will see what he can do. I am sure at the end of it he will still look great.

Ronnie coleman also just recently called out cutler on instagram as well.Ronnie looks like he has been paying his dues training balls to the wall all of those seasons.Hip replacement and just completed his third back surgery...and plans on getting back at it with the iron 6 weeks after this recent trip under the knife.

Tbh that doesnt really sound smart, i get its his lifestyle and it's what hes done for decades but age catches up with you. Several surgeries should be a red flag..

Its the classic case of one just in denial that it really is the end.

Well boys he ain't in the casket just yet. It interests me enough to keep an eye on it. He knows he won't be the superfreek he was.

Because this generation is just influenced by Massive vascular BBs that all have growth guts. The sport will never be the same. I really hope that the mega monster thing is just a fad that will die out. Would be nice to see the golden era type physique emerge once again.

Looking average and thereafter achieving a showtime physique in SIX MONTHS!

While there's no doubt genetics, diet and BB routine were contributing factors, NONE of these competitors would or could reach the LBM they were all well known for absent an AGGRESSIVE use of AAS and PED's

As KKM mentioned, that bulky belly body habitus has limited the appeal of competitive BB to GUYs who just want to be "big"!

And those lady Arnie voyeurs who propelled the sport of BB into the stratosphere in the 1980s, have left as viewers in droves as a result!
