Wunderpus' get bigger cycle

Update 6/3/15:

REST-

Yesterday was a joke. I had less than 4 hours of sleep the night before and a pretty solid fever (some nasty bug going around the office). So, yesterday was a rest and refuel day. I cannot stress how important those are. A guy at my office asked me about rest days yesterday, oddly enough.

For rest days I have no SET plan. Some guys do 3 days on, 1 day off, etc etc. I think that's ineffective, at least for myself. You see, it's like setting a number of reps to stay within, per set. You're limiting yourself. It's okay to have a goal range for reps (8-10, or 18-20, etc etc) but if you only do 8, and you could've done 11, why stop at 8? Anyway, rest days are treated similarly for me. Sometimes I will go a week and a half without a day off, sometimes it'll be after just 2 days straight of training. This game we call bodybuilding, or power lifting, or whatever is really about being in tune with your body. Know what it needs.

What I needed yesterday was a couch, a TV and a large pepperoni and jalapeno pizza from Papa John's. God damn did that taste and feel good! I woke up feeling great and energized. 9 hours of sleep, a ton of carbs and fats to refuel and WP is back in fighting shape!

So let's talk GEAR here for a moment-

I am encouraged to see a pass with flying colors on Pharmacom's test. enan.! I will start pinning it in a few days when I'm done with my other test E vial. The Pharmacom deca is really kicking in, in my opinion. I am beyond curious to see how it tests! Anecdotally it's awesome, I am curious to see if my 'feelings' are inline with reality. I am a HUGE believer in the placebo effect, and I don't find myself exempt from falling under it's power. Still haven't cracked the Pharmacom EQ, I have enough of the other lab's to keep running until we see how Pharma's goes.

FOOD-

Would any of you have interest to see photos of the foods that're consumed as part of this cycle? I would love to show you guys that healthy food can be tasty as well as beautiful. It doesn't have to be shitty and bland chicken breasts with some boring and flavorless carbs/veggies. If there's any interest, I'd be glad to post pictures and recipes, as well as a rough estimate of costs.

TRAINING-

Today is biceps and triceps. I'm feeling full of energy from that pizza refuel, so I'm going to train for volume today. I'm planning a Lee Priest style arm workout. Lot's of volume, and intensity. But, I will not be limiting myself to a rep#, more a rep range.

Thanks guys!

@Wunderpus, I am always interested in recipes, pics and anything that u would like to add to ur log.[emoji123]

Anyone else have a shitty appetite in the morning? I normally can only squeeze in a shake and a yogurt until about 2 hours after getting up. I've always been that way, which sucks.

Morning shake consists of about a cup and a half of pasteurized egg whites, a scoop of whey protein, 1 TSP of PB2, 1 packet of breakfast essentials and unsweetened almost milk.

Me last meal is at 8pm, first thing in the morning 2 cups of coffee and off to the gym I go.
Fuck, I can't get to the gym until 5 pm. I get up at 5 am for work... I would love to workout in the morning.

I have never problems to eat. But i like shakes in the morning too bc its fast to make.

I prefer the healthy version. Frozen berries, bananas, almond milk, whey and instant oats. Fantastic :)

Curious why you think adding stuff that's high on the glycemic index makes it healthier?

the breakfast essentials are there just for the vitamins

Didnt want to say its healthier than yours mate.

The glycemic index has nothing to do with the health factor imo.

Btw. im absolutely no fan of powders, esp. vitamin powders.

to me implied that you were claiming your version with the berries is healthier

Either way, I try to avoid the sugars in the morning. I prefer them post workout. I like to keep my insulin sensitivity as high as possible. If I was running slin, I'd eat way more carbs.

Okay boys and girls, update time-

On Friday I gave myself a shot of suspension (1cc in the quad) and it felt kind of WEIRD going in, and I did it lower on my quad than I normally do. Truly, I was in a bit of a hurry and figured I'd slam it in the muscle and run. Fast forward 6 hours later and old Wunderpus is experiencing the PIP from HELL! I cannot properly describe to you the feeling. Not sure if I hit a nerve, or the water moved into a nerve, or what. It made my knee hurt and I couldn't really bend my leg. Hot bath, advil and a heating pad made it feel better after about an hour. Still sore, but it's getting better. Definitely cramped my style quite a bit at the gym this weekend, as legs were OUT of the question, and standing exercises were almost impossible. Fuck.

My SPECTACULAR pinning luck continued this weekend. Sunday was a standard shot in the delts, that felt 'weird' again. So, what the fuck, well I go and aspirate, sure enough the barrel starts to fill with blood. In all my years, probably thousands of pins, I've never actually had blood come into the barrel. God dammit. To be safe, I chucked the pin. The blood coagulated and clotted in the oil, so it scared me to put it back in, not worth any risk. Luckily no carryover pain from hitting a large vein. I managed to have a solid arm workout regardless. @Demondosage I am trying the Rich Piana thing you posted a while back. I can say it sucks dick to do after arm day, looking forward to seeing results. 15lbs is hard as fuck after set 2...

GEAR update-

Transitioned to Pharmacom Bold 300, 3 days in, no pip, seems good (obviously I cannot attest to the actually strength/dosing anytime soon). The deca is really working nicely for me. Tomorrow I will switch to the pharmacom test E. I really, really, want to try some injectable DBOL, I think it would add a lot to this cycle. Patiently waiting for @Darius PharmacomStore to get some more.

Today is shoulders, please comment some of your favorite shoulder workouts, I'd like to try some new shit!

Thanks guys.

on the Rich Piana arm routine, man I just cannot accurately say if this worked or not. I have a lot of variables involved and Im cutting up right now, so I measured my arms the other day and they are right at 18" cold w/ no pump. But its typical to lose arm size when Im dieting. It may be a different story if I was eating more but my instincts still tell me that Dorian/Mentzer style training is still #1

I am willing to try it, why not, right?

Mine will be used during a bulk, so maybe it will yield great results...? Either way, I am struggling to understand the logic behind the whole system. But, I am willing to try something new.

I am a Dorian fan. He'll always be the greatest in my mind.

Lee priest has a lot of valuable info to offer, too.

Ideally the ABOVE PICTURE has grabbed your attention, and put you in the right state of mind here! You're gonna want to be ready to read here, take an Adderall if you have one handy.

Training-
Yesterday was arms. Which roughly translates to old WP making a lot of noise, slamming a bunch of plates and generally making enemies with the right people at the gym, and attaining some new admirers.

I was getting all pumped up watching some CT Fletcher bullshit yesterday, so I wanted to give his ridiculous 100 rep warmup a try. That's WAY out of my wheelhouse, I try to avoid burning out those glycogen stores before some heavy ass weight gets moved around.

Basically, you do 10 sets of 10 reps, random weight. I would just sort of 'Helen Keller" the pin into the weight stack, close my eyes and enjoy the prison style rape that was happening to my biceps. Fuck, I will tell you, the confusion your biceps feel when they are hit with random weight over and over, feels like something... Not sure what. It was like a combination of a pump and the next day muscle fatigue... I did the same bullshit with triceps pushdowns too. Felt good, and surprisingly didn't hinder my workout. Try it.

Moved into the more or less standard routine, really trying to focus on training to failure, especially for the last set of each workout.

Reverse Grip Tricep Pushdowns (3 regular sets, increasing weight to failure followed by 1 super set, this will more or less be the routine for the various lifts for the day)

Standing straight bar curls- I never really do this one, it's normally a warm up of 2 or 3 sets. I prefer the EZ bar, but I decided to say "fuck your preference, step out of the comfort zone!" I didn't realize how sexy you look from the side when you straight curl some heavy ass weight, I might just start doing it for that reason alone (for increased sexiness, wear a sleeveless shirt or a short that's pretty tight around your arms :D)

Concentration curls- Oh the humbling feeling of concentration curls. This is always a weak lift for me, but normally it should be. Typically it's about the same weight as a seated T curl would be. Don't be stupid and go heavy, this is the time to focus on that contraction and pump. You'll have time to lift your heavy ass weights later.

Skull crushers- Skull crushers are still the worst exercise ever invented, in my mind. Sure, they work, I really feel them blast my outer tri's. I'm not sure if it's just me, but anything above 90lbs and my elbows start feeling like the Tin Man's (WD40 to the loud guy on the flatbench please). Next time I'll probably hit individual DB skull crushers, seems to be easier on the old joints.

Back to your regularly scheduled update

Preacher curls- I intended to do one arm preacher curls, but, things apparently changed. The easy ass plate loaded one was available, and I actually get a pretty good squeeze out of it. Drop sets are easier, too. Always tuck in that stomach boys and girls, form is KEY on this one (I see too many inept folks whipping that weight up and down, and they're really using their back and shoulders, sorry pencil arms, you're not impressing anyone here).

Overhead triceps pullovers/ SS with straight bar pushdown- This is a good one, and a highly underused workout. I think people struggle to get the form right, and end up pushing it to the side. The whole tricep gets a pump when you SS these two lifts.

Reverse curls SS w/ straight cable curls- It is what it is, hit that reverse curl hard, burn those forearms and the lower bi. Rotate those hands 180 degrees, grab on tight to that bar and go (it'll be over soon, find your happy place).

Cross body hammer curls- If you're like me, and have lame biceps compared to other muscles, please start doing these. They have added so much size and volume to the lower part of my bi's, it's insane. You look cool as hell too when you do these. This is a good time to grab some heavy ass weights and show the innocent what forearm development looks like. I would recommend getting stupid with this one and doing the rack (start with your max weight at a 6 rep range, and go down the rack, DB after DB to failure. 5lb's will feel heavier than those blue balls you had in 8th grade)

Triceps press down w/ the inverted V shape bar- Not sure what this accessory is actually called, so work with me on that. Either way, this exercise is sort of a joke if you have any strength, that's why I finish with it. I want to be pre exhausted here, and really be able to focus on that form.

Chin ups- CT Fletcher was having one of his dudes finish Bi's up with 3 sets of chin ups until failure. 1 set wide, 1 set mid and one set narrow. Yeah, well that last set was more or less a 1RM, HAHA. I knew your boy was done after that.

My hindsight is 20/20 most of the time, whereas my foresight can't always boast the same.... I wish I had added cable kickbacks in the tri's. I've really been neglecting tri's lately, not sure why.

Either way, diet was on point yesterday. Really trying to focus the carbs before and after my workouts, I'm digging it.

Boys and girls, feedback is always encouraged and loved, positive and negative.
