i (like to) think that the fresh faced politicians that are new to that world go in with positive intentions of change for the people that voted them in.
In time i think money, power and career growth push those positive intentions to the back burner and it's no longer "what can i do to serve the people" but "what can i do to serve myself".
There was a story a while back where two law makers wanted to start a poll to figure out why large numbers of residents were leaving their state.
i had to laugh, thinking how the two of them could be so out of touch with the people they serve that they have to poll residents to figure out why they wanna get the hell outta Dodge.

I wish we had a way to verify our votes after they have been cast.
And to be honest, when you really boil it down how many true fiscal conservatives do we have running around these days? Both parties seem interested in spending, it just depends on what their agenda is in regards to where they want the money to go.
There are no fiscal conservatives in the federal government these days, Left or Right. They don't even pretend anymore. The federal reserve will loan the government any amount at any time for any reason.
No one complains, especially not Trump. He is on record repeating the neocon mantra, "deficits don't mater". If he manages to win in November, it will be on the crest of a massive wave of monetary inflation. That's not fiscally conservative, that's not conservative at all.

1934, 1971, 1987, 2001, 2008 are all years the US defaulted on the US dollar. It won't be hyperinflation IMO, it will be a default. The one-world all digital currency seems like a given at this point.
But in the short term MUCH higher prices are are also a given. Lots of free money going to out of work individuals is going to drive up prices, since there is so much less stuff being produced. I'm told the cut off for a COVID small business loan to be automatically forgiven is $100,000. Anyone with a small business would be a fool not to take it. How can something like that NOT drive up prices.

It's amazing, for example, how many far Left snowflake grad students I've met at functions my wife drags me too who tell me they are libertarians. And they all have these crackpot ideas they describe as libertarian solutions. How about a government created market for pollution? Or private ownership in "ocean plots" - by the gallon. It's all very entertaining, but I can't tell these people I'm a libertarian. I might as well say I'm a Martian.

The fact of the matter is there will never be minority privilege in this nation be it black or otherwise as long as pigs like these hold positions of authority. The entire BLM movement started because some fat marshmallow got away with killing a 17 year old black kid in a trial we should have seen that fucking pig fry to bacon.
