Donating to St. Jude's

Lol, your post for the donations is something similar that my kids started a few years ago in my house. It’s a running thing now when one of us wishes for good luck, we donate to St. Jude’s. At least someone benefits.

I once had a physiology professor say something that changed my thinking for life when we were talking about some diseases being random and genetic.

He said "the only place i'll ever donate money to is St. Jude's. I don't feel bad for most adults because they made the decisions that got them where they're at. But there isn't a child on the planet who asked to get cancer"

I used to work in a hospital compounding drugs overnight and we had a preemie baby doing poorly. Compounding for infants is terrifying because you have to be accurate down to the 0.01 or it can kill them. When I was delivering the TPN I ran into the EMTs who had just picked her up and gave them the bag to administer. It was one of the only times I ever saw the person I made drugs for.

Really hope that kiddo made it. Couldn't care less about most adults but the children really do deserve for us to put our differences aside and do better for them.

I love this cause and also these communities. My family is somewhat regular supporter of St. Jude. Happy to support where and when I can. Hopefully some others will as well.

I was just asking GA. Figured since he had profited about 4x on every vial sold since his “increase”…….he had a little extra to spare for the kids.

This thread is just awesome. @Spaceman Spiff had a great idea. It’s just nice to see a group of folks who will likely never meet, but can come together for a common goal. And such a worthy cause.

I don’t know if anyone has ever seen the story but there’s biker groups who go escort abused children to court when they have to face their abuser. They’ll even go sit in the driveway all night watching guard if the kid calls and is scared to go to sleep in fear of the attacker. They’ll escort them to school, back home, whatever they need to feel safe.

This thread was stated so early in the year, maybe a goal should be set of how much the folks of meso can contribute to St Jude’s in 2025?
