Last night was chest night. Started with flat bench, and my ego said go for a PR. Warmed up with ten reps 135, add 20, ten reps again and so on, adding twenty pounds and repping until I knew I had one or two left. Got to 295, where last time all three reps were very sloppy form and third rep had to be assisted to keep bar straight. This time just wanted two clean good form reps. Nailed it with more in reserve. Figured ok that shit felt good, time to blast 315. A complete no go and ended up a forced rep start to finish :( finished bench routine with a series of pause reps, staying in the six rep range and concentrating on speed and form off my chest. Did all my cable flies, incline BB bench, and then decided to use my extra time to hit arms again this week. Have given up cardio for now, largely because I have decided to start adding lean mass. I'm keeping my rest between sets minimal, to keep the heart rate up. Plus in the hot weather I am burning plenty of calories at work lol. Although my bench 1RM didn't go up, I know I'm stronger. All the weights are getting easier, I just need to concentrate on my form to get my bench up higher I believe.
Looking forward to adjusting diet this coming week and shooting for some serious muscle gain in the near future.

You can get plenty bigger without moving your 1rep max at all
Oh yeah, I'm not loosing sleep over it. My body is still recomping and my strength is still going up. I'm not really focusing on 1RM in the end, I'm more concerned with what I see in the mirror. I want to be huge and solid! Like the great trukker ;)
 
Went for my third attempt at a 315 bench yesterday, but this time crushed it for two good clean reps. I think I may have had enough left for a third.
Dropped the dbol Thursday after a raise in my BP. Will be watching that and may have to reduce Tren as well. Hate to cut back my Tren, because at 200mg eod I can really feel and see it working. Insomnia, night sweats, sweating after carb intake, strength gains are all really prevalent now. So is the urge to screw around behind wife's back to, which may be a reason to go ahead n cut it back. I think I know now why Tren is best for single men.
 
315, SWEET!
Quite a ways from where I should be by now, but it's progress. I so want 405 by January. The really big thing is my shoulders are feeling better then they have in years. Hopefully that means I can make use of old muscle memory and get back to the 365 I did years ago. Then work toward that 405 goal.
 
If I was you I'd slowly work up. Give it time. Work up thru reps. Work your 315 for reps then you may be suprised some day you push 405 x3 or more. Instead of pushing and clawing for 405 and barely get it up to damage your self beyond repair. Injuries are no fun and we ain't getting younger

Definitely. I've been concentrating on repping 225 for five sets, then five sets of pause reps at 185, and followed up by five sets of inclines 95lbs time under tension. Then I move to flies and getting a good pump on tri's with pull downs what ever weight I can get for over 20 reps.
 
As long as your pushing the action your rest assured your delivering the muscle breakdown you need. Supersets are an invaluable tool to increase intensity. No rest a true superset. Working with sub standard weights but still using progression principles. Nothing works forever tho. So changing up is inevitable
 
First time clicking on your thread. I don't post a whole bunch on these log threads for some reason? There's a lot of support and good things going on in them but there isn't much I have to offer after all the other guys have posted up...same here...but I have to post up because I'm almost completely floored by the transformation! You remind me of jBallz physique wise. A very high compliment!

I'd help you load the pistol if you ever went back. Your life has had to completely change. You have to be getting respect based on the machismo emanating from your being. Carry on big man!
 
@biggerben69, I had become a beer guzzling fat fucker. I have sworn I will never look like that again, but instead I want a true BB physique. I hope in the next couple years to have what it takes to get on stage and compete. My life has changed, that is for sure. Most of it is the looks and flirting from the ladies, as well as the new found insecurity my wife has over it. Thanks for the compliments, although I don't hold a candle to jBallz.
 
Ok guys, need some input. You've seen the pictures above. My chest is still a big weak point in my appearence, as well as abs but I'm on a good track with them. What can I do to really form up my pecs? I do a good bit of cable flies, but that just doesn't seem to be cutting it.

Not that I have ripped pecs, but I like flat db and incline db.
