Ben’s random thoughts

After digesting these defeats, the Williams sisters announced that they were now looking to play against another player, but this time ranked above 350th. With a lot of humour, Braasch asked them to wait a bit, “I told Serena and Venus that the following week, I would lose ATP points from a tournament from the previous season and that I should then not be too far from the 350th place.”However, the revenge match would never happen. The William sisters chose to impose their will among the girls and Karsten Braasch to play golf between puffs.

Lil late on this lol I had it wrote up earlier but forgot to post it

That is some list, huh.
The love emoji is insufficient for it.
It's fantastic.

I know you are partial to a good blueberry muffin, too.
I wonder how often you actually have stuff like this, though.
A few of those items, infrequently, I reckon.

I have to think about this.
Thank you for thinking of me, but I am far from a healthy nut.
It will probably include some tiramisu and stuff my mum makes.
But which one, I have to think about. I may ask her for ideas, lol, I am retard.

The pink stuff is not clear.
Is it just the Thanksgiving stuff you said?
Dinner at Rekkie must be amazeballs.

Partial is an understatement. My list would be a mile long if I added everything
Before I got stationed in this god awful town, besides 3 things, alot of that was weekly.

I await your list, which I know will also be fantastic, maybe Ill get some things I can try off of it for my 2025 try new stuff, you should ask your mum then I can go on a baking spree trying her cookery (is that the correct word? Lol)

Yeah, the thanksgiving and Christmas stuff, I think the actual name for it is church salad
Its pineapple, whip cream, cherry pie filling, and sweetened condensed milk
Its so simple to make but I grew up eating it and only getting it at those times, its kind of dear to me.
Growing up I used to bake/cook so much, in my teens I was cooking new stuff weekly, one time I made this penne alla vodka that was soooo good, but it requires you lighting it on fire and I almost burnt our house down… but anyways, the food was delish.

Who’s everyone’s favorite tennis player growing up or now?
I’ll start lol
For me it was Boris Becker.
boris becker win GIF by History UK
I sorta already answered this one in the past...

Ivan Lendl was my favorite. I like Agassi as well but he seems to be always injured. I just never got down with the Sampras game but he did seem machine-like.

Of course, my boyhood crush...Martina Hingis (AK a distant second ..no idea why to this day I remember this...lol)

It has been a while since I've followed tennis closely (when you're a kid, you can keep up with everything...lol)

Serena had an incredible run but so dominant it was hard to watch sometimes...and even harder once she stopped being dominant (hard to see a giant descend). Men's game - didn't watch much because it seemed like there was always a battle between 2 dudes (e.g Nadal and Federer was a thing, right??? Lol)... truthfully, Djokovic is probably the only player I can name right now.

Lol. Commendable effort.
Karsten was a very tricky left handed player and top 40 player playing teenage girls. I love the internet.
He used to beat me too back in the early 90’s too and so did my sister.

to end this foolishness lol
The major shortcomings of the women’s game are height, serve speed and most importantly movement, particularly in and out of the corners.
In Serena’s prime her serve was equal to Federers in terms of speed, placement, and disguise. One of the best serves in men’s and women’s history tennis history. That alone would of put her in the top 200 on the men’s sides. She had an excellent all around game with no weakness and most importantly she was mentally tough. You have to realize after the top 50 in the world the majority of players have losing records. This goes beyond physicality and into the mental realm. Serena was a winner. Pretty much every girl on tour now practices with guys year round thst are or were in the top 200. Huge difference from the 90’s.
Would she have been successful on the men’s tour? NO.
To say she couldn’t beat guys in the top 500-700 is pure stupidity.
Today’s female player with the best chance against the boys is definitely coco gauff due to her movement and serve speed.

Another thing
Regarding Johnny Mac
His 10 favorite things
1. Johnny mac
2. Attention
3. Tennis
4. His music
5-10. Alternate Johnny Mac and attention
lol. Love the guy but that’s the truth.

Next question.
Who’s everyone’s favorite bodybuilder?
I’m not much of a fan of the mid 90’s and on mutant size guys. I respect it but I prefer the older generation. I’d go with Frank Zane. Seems like he had a physique that worked well on/off stage.IMG_4954.webp

Yes, 100%.
From that period, for me he was the one.
When you put Arnold next to him, Frank comes out on top, personally.

Does that mean it is not good, just because it dates from back then?
No i ate it once but i didnt liked it but not for that lol
But was soo common in the 80s
I eat a ton but i am a bit of a picky eater lol(but luckily i like healty foods for example i love white rice, pasta ecc)

Ben,

I have watched the news and heard about the fires in California.
All they say here is that the weather conditions have been dry, now it's windy, and it is all due to climate change.

However, I still do not understand what it is that is setting the vegetation on fire, in the first place.
What is it that creates ignition?
Surely, even if the trees etc are dry, temperatures cannot be that high, in January, to make all that happen. Or can they?

Is it not caused accidentally?

Hopefully you are nowhere near there.

Do you know anything about what is going on?

Lots of things but probably homeless, smokers, arsonists, or or a overheated wheel bearing on a tractor trailer. These are the usual causes of and I forgot the power lines there are in terrible condition. Mostly the gov won't allow controlled burns and brush clearing.
