Ben’s random thoughts

Oh, don't worry.
You are OK.
And also, your opinions do not have to conform to the politically correct narrative.
Mine deffo don't lol, but I ain't changing them to get in line.

Mine was a kind of a serious question, though, because a lot of men seem obsessed with anal stuff.
I find it abhorrent.
I understand a lot of it comes from porn. Bad situation.
But also it comes from many having a non hetero orientation (if not straight gay) that they often hide or do not acknowledge.

Whatever, it is what it is.
Still, I do not have to like it, you know?

Yes, footballers are just overpaid, overhyped trash.

Cyclists train incredibly hard, are mega fit, body weight to power ratios are insane, their races (well, the road ones) are long and torturous.

Just superior humans, in my book.

Thanks for the reply.

And no worries, you are cool, we like you.
If you are writing, especially to me, no worries.
It is very difficult I get offended.
I just take everything in my stride (or try to)
:)
Thanks
I think its probably caused by porn
And phsically cyclists are superior than footballers but tbh i enjoy more to watch a football match than an average tdf stage, the only thing that i hate about them is that they think they are better atlhetes than everyone when football its a lot about skills than being fit (i have a a classmate that is a good footballer and go clubbing and drink lots of alchol)sometimes i also like to play it with friends and i sucks but i am everywhere on the pitch and i have a powerful shot but i miss most of the time
Im writing this waiting for my dad becsuse i flatted at 70km far from home lol

Enlighten me.
What’s the deal with counting steps?
Is that really the health/fitness barometer these days?
Is it for cheaper insurance or something?
10k steps is that standard right?
So, let’s say you do 8k naturally and now it’s almost bedtime. Do you walk aimlessly for 2k more steps? Lol
I’m sorry I just don’t get it.
Walking ain’t fitness
I’d say 50/100 jumping jacks would be equivalent to 10k steps.

Pretty awful day 1 at Aussie open

Day 2 so far rather meh but got some Novak Alcaraz and Kygrios action coming up in a couple hours.
And let’s thank the brain trust that decided those 3 should all start play at the same time. Lol.

IMO, it's because smart watches and phones now feature sensors that can track that data, and "steps" have become their marketing gimmick for fitness.

Nowadays, it seems people need to be told what to, and not to, do, instead of thinking for themselves. "Your automatically sensing watch automatically calculated and automatically alerted you're defecient 2k steps... better get stepping."

Sorry Ben. I know this is a humor thread, and I'm just sour-pussing it :p

Yep, BigMoJo is correct.
Here, straight outta Google:

"You might be surprised to hear it was the result of a 1960s marketing campaign in Japan.
In the run-up to the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, a company came up with a device which they started marketing to the health-conscious.
It was called a Manpo-Kei. In Japanese, "man" means 10,000, "po" means steps and "kei" means meter. So it was, literally, a 10,000 steps meter.
The device was an early pedometer, based on the work of Dr Yoshiro Hatano.
Dr Hatano was worried that the Japanese were busy importing a slothful American lifestyle, as well as a love of watching baseball, and wanted to help them get more active.
He reckoned that if he could persuade his fellow Japanese to increase their daily steps from 4,000 to around 10,000 then they would burn off approximately 500 extra calories a day and remain slim.
That, apparently, was how the "10,000 steps a day" regime was born.
It was clearly a great marketing success. But is it still the most effective way to improve our fitness?"

For that question, the answer was no, 10000 steps are not necessary.
Doing 3 shorter, brisk walks (10 minutes each) had the same benefits.

There ya go.

Oh yay!!!!
Are we getting tennis commentary from you???
Super cool.

What are your predictions?

How prestigious a tournament is it, in relation to all others?

Is Novak going to get heavy metal poisoning, again?
That explosive diarrhoea ain't a good look on court, with them white shorts they like to wear.

Have a good time and keep us posted, please.
:)

Well there won’t be any running commentary lol
Just quick recaps
Novak is currently in deep shit but can this young fella keep this level to win two more sets? We shall see.

For the grand slams.
Wimbledon, French open, U.S. open, then Aussie open

Prediction:
The usual since beginning of last yesr
And will probably be like this for next decadee
Sinner or Alcaraz
There’s really no one else in sight atm

10000 steps is like 500 kcal and thats less than a plate of pasta so its just stupid people is just too undisciplined do some real training and diet and u are not going to be fat
And also idk how people look themselves while are fat i am 150lbs 6.1 and i feel fat sometimes

Apologies Ben,

Yes, if I had even done the quickest of Google searches, I would have indeed discovered that this thread is also taught at the Tijuana Technical Institute, School of Hokum-Bunkum in their advanced courses of Modern Communication. Very prestigious... tough to get accepted there... very high standards of admission.
