Where I'm from, only a select few get the "privilege" to carry a pistol like that. Even if you are lucky enough to get a permit, it has to stay unloaded, locked in a box in the trunk (unless in a pick-up). If you get caught going anywhere with the pistol other than to or from a range, you can get in trouble (even if you have a permit).Anything sawed off or barrel less than 18" will get you fucked.

My how times have changed. When I was in California used to drive around with a .38 on my dash board. The CHP preferred it to be there instead of on the seat beside you in case you got stopped there were not any surprises. Also same in Arizona, used to walk around with the holster on my hip but left the pistol in the car. I guess most of you were just getting born about then.

I'm not here to start an online war. I understand the need for catharsis, though, I don't think saying "I always enjoyed watching the lights go out" speaks of a person looking for someone to lend an understanding ear.
AZ still has some pretty relaxed gun laws compared to most states. I go dove hunting out there every year and all the wannabe bad asses for some reason feel they have to carry a sidearm while hunting doves. I can see hunting boar or bear carrying a sidearm as a backup but for dove? Really? It's flashy douchebags like that who make it hard for all the people without tiny dicks to keep gun laws from tightening up.

Oregon you are aloud to have your gun as long as it is not loaded and you are going from point a to point b like shooting rage to your house, and or hunting spot to your house... That is the only way you can with out a license, other wise you have to have a license if you want to conceal and or have it loaded...
I know Oklahoma & Texas are pretty relaxed for the most part. There's always that Barney Fife though that's trying to make a name for himself anywhere you go. Cops around here could care less for the most part where you firearm is & if it's loaded or not...just as long as your honest & upfront about it. You try to be sneaky, & they'll nail your ass!

This is a huge problem. In Afghanistan, how do you find your enemy? Everyone looks similar. The way you find them is they start shooting @ you.
In Iraq, you basically move around until an IED finds you.
Under those condition year after year you will get seriously mind fucked.
You need counseling and probably psych meds, but the macho drives service members away.
