I was a teacher in inner city Cleveland for 32 years before retiring a year ago...I taught at all grade levels...I learned my first year that black students absolutely refuse to follow simple directions or directives...it did not matter if I was a tough guy or nice guy...I want to share a story that happened 5 weeks before I retired...a 5th grade black boy had been misbehaving for days...finally I dismissed the class except for him...I talked to him very politely for five minutes...I could see I was getting nowhere so I said to him "jason I don't understand why you are being so disruptive...I have been talking very NICE with you for 5 minutes and you are getting more hostile"...he replied " don't you know that that white people 'NICE NICE' stuff doesn't work on us black kids?"...I said " yes I know that."...he then asked why I was being nice and I said because our schools approach for dealing with inappropriate behavior requires me to talk to you nicely...he then got up, looked at me and said "that is fucking stupid"...he then walked out of the room...the only thing they understand is violence!...

You know, to be real honest it’s very easy for people to turn a blind eye to things that haven’t affected them personally. This article and what happened is so far removed from all of us living today (for the most part) and if people aren’t willing (and lets be real - most aren’t) to put themselves in someone else’s shoes, we will never understand. You’re right - there has been a ton of racism against blacks in this country and there continues to be. To minimize it is simple when it’s not someone personally being affected. I do want to apologize to you @Dresden for lacking empathy in some of my replies to you.

@Dresden, why aren’t you so outraged about black on black crime which has the highest crime rate. More black men kill other black men than any other race, ethnicity or LE. They kill each other for no reason. They get into an argument in a club and end up killing innocent people. Why not protest that rather than cops killing blacks which has been proven to be not as big of a problem as the media, BLM and Antifa make it out to be. The difference really comes down to who watch's the watchers. Police are put in a position of power. But what we forget is their people to under high stress that deal with assholes day in day out. Are there good cops yea bad cops oh ya. Violence within society is never going to stop that's why we have police. We have been shity to each other since the beginning of time. Take away the guns it will stop the violence fuck we will just stab each other take away knives we will club each other. defund police, violence goes up weird. Like any job we need to get rid of bad apples there needs to be checks and balances innocent people are going to die it happens but there needs to be action against it. how do you know i'm not outraged about it? that's why I, and many other folks volunteer our time to mentor youth, and there are always stop the violence marches that go uncovered by the media. I know some white folks like to pull that argument out of their ass because we should be like them and basically not give a fuck when someone is gunned down by police unjustifiably, but we choose not to do that.
